[Q] Did you upgrade from Moto X 2013? topic

Hi,

I am still using the Moto X from 2013 and looking to upgrade to a new phone ... I really don't know what to go for, I like so many things about the Moto X 2013, but I just don't think the 2014 is for me (size is too big?!) but I am not sure.

What has your experience been? and I just wanted to know what people with the Moto X 2014 currently recommend/their experience.

Thanks for helping out an unsure customer.

[Q] Cannot install Safestrap on Kindle Fire HDX 2013 (Thor), parse error topic

I have a Fire HDX Thor 7" tablet from 2013, which has just updated to FireOS 4.5.2. However, I still had the same error on the original version of the OS.
When I try to install Safestrap, downloaded from the links provided in this thread from ES file explorer, I get a "Parse error". I have tried all 5 apks.
This is the error I get when tapping install: "There was a problem parsing the package.", preventing me from installing the app.
I have all the requirements, root access and SuperSU successfully installed. All other apks install fine.
Any ideas/alternate apps that will allow me to boot into a custom ROM? I would like to install CM or stock KitKat if possible.

Just received the nexus 7 (2013) but there's no lollipop update? topic

Received the nexus 7 for christmas and there were initially several updates 4.3>4.4.2>4.4.3>4.4.4 and was expecting a lollipop update after but it says I am up to date. Didn't the lollipop update for this nexus come out over a month ago? Any ideas?

[Q] using adb backup n 2012 to n 2013, want to ensure I backup chrome bookmarks topic

I got a n 2013, moving from a n 2012. I never rooted the 12 but rooted the 13. Anyway, I'm using adb backup because it sounds like it's my only real option when not rooted.

I'm using adb backup -apk -shared -all -nosystem -f backup.bin

I read -system is for system apps but I haven't found a guide that is clear on what that actually means. Is it system apps only or system apps and data. Since I'm migrating to a new device I thought shouldn't use -system, but now that it's running, I'm thinking this backup won't contain chrome's bookmarks, or am I wrong?

Notification to Update to 5.0.1 is gone on Nexus 7 2013 topic

HI,

I got a notification few days ago that 5.0.1 is now available for my Nexus 7 but when I finally decided to upgrade, the notification was gone and checking system updates show that my system is up-to-date. Anyone know how I can get it back? I don't want to use the zip file and sideloading. My device is a bit complicated because I have Multirom and Ubunut Touch.

Thanks.
