partitions on xt1032 topic

I have a question. What should the moto g (none gpe) partition format be ?

I know data should be f2fs, but what about system ? My system was set to ext4 as was my cache partition. I heard f2fs is faster than ext4 so changed my system to f2fs.

[Q] HELP moto g xt1032 stuck at fastboot topic

So i tried flashing the lollipop software to my moto g xt1032 (i am a noob at this) and i think i messed up my phone. It now wont go past the bootloader/fastboot screen. Before updating i was running android 4.4.2. When i initially boot up my phone it says version downgraded for boot, failed to validate boot image, fastboot reason: fall through from normal boot cycle i have tried to follow the many guides their are out there that work/i am too dumb to understand them. If anyone can please help me. If i did not give enough info please ask and i will try my best to give it to you.

[Q] How can I update my rooted XT1032 GPe 4.4.4 to 5.0, since I had to flash non-GPe topic

Hello,

TL;DR: My question: where can I find a stock 4.4 GPe firmware compatible with XT1032 devices? (cid: 0x00DE

I had a rooted Moto G GPe 4.4, which prompted me yesterday about updating to Lollipop (OTA update, is that right?). Of course, it didn't work. Seriously, for newbies like me reading this, don't accept this, wait for something stable to be available.

So, yesterday, it downloaded everything and started updating. It hanged right in the middle with an error screen. I tried a reboot, same thing (in french it was written "Aucune commande". I guess the proper translation would be no command available or something). I tried a recovery, I had the little android logo lying on the ground with a scary warning on his belly. I tried a factory reset, same thing.

So, I went on this forum, started following this guide, however I was on Linux so I didn't use his .bat script, instead I manually used fastboot and mfastboot.

I downloaded the image named XT1032_RETAIL-EU_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip (the CID don't match but it worked) available at this address. For information, the link http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14 is dead since yesterday at least, which is annoying given the bandwidth of filefactory.

Using mfastboot, I launched these commands:

Code:

mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot reboot

Everything was fine. My phone booted, prompted me to install the device and download my apps. Aside from the fugly Motorola boot animation and stock apps, great. However, I couldn't get the Lollipop update, since apparently it is only available to 4.4 GPe edition. I thus got even dumber than normally and started to follow this guide. Beware, the sound is very loud on this video, and doing a video for this kind of info is pretty dumb anyway. The process is written down in the description.

I downloaded the 4.4 GPe firmware linked and started to flash it using mfastboot, same process as above. However, upon rebooting I had only a prompt to decrypt my data. WTF? I used my Google Account password to no avail. Rebooted in fastboot mode, tried recovery and factory reset. Nope. So, I flashed again the XT1032_RETAIL-EU_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF firmware. I booted fine, and it is currently restoring my system.
Anyone could explain exactly why it did it? Do I have to worry about anything (I don't care about my data, everything is backed up securely. But I critically need my phone and can't afford to brick it).
I am unable to find a stock 4.4 GPe firmware. Anyone got a link? If possible from a reputable source? I'd like to stay on a GPe phone, I hate bloated and ugly designs. And I'd like to update to Lollipop.

[Discussion] Moto G XT1032 - GPE Converted Lollipop topic

So yeah, I've successfully converted my XT1032 to GPE and updated it to Lollipop. In fact I didn't have to spend a lot of time in Fastboot as a lot of those guides out there would have you do. Just flashed the 4.4.4 GPE and then once it loaded it asked if I wanted to upgrade. So I don't know about other XT1032 users but I thought it was fairly painless.

One thing of note if your planning to root, this is the method I did it. http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/. Now just so you know that list doesn't have the new Lollipop versions I used Google and to find the post with them. Just make sure you turn off, "Mount namespace separation". I found it was giving me some trouble. I also ended up installing SuperUser into /system and after that my root issue disappeared.

During the whole thing I had my SIM out (I have to pay for data, I'm with Koodo Mobile). Once it was done installing the updates (software and everything) I put it back in and the phone asked to reboot. Everything seems to be working and I turned data off so I wouldn't use it.

Anyone else with a XT1032, having any difficulties with this?

[Q] Need help with moto g XT1032 GPE topic

So today i found out that the MOTO G GPE version gets the Lolipop 5.0 now,but i didn't get any update notification on my device even when i press "check for updates"

Which 4.4.4 update for my MotoG XT1032 ? topic

Hey guys, I can't figure out which one of these I need......

http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6...show=25&page=1

my bootloader is unlocked, the automatic ota updates never install so I need to do it manually.

Currently running this 4.3 image....

falcon_retgb_user_4.3_14.10.0Q3.X-76-LGG-8_54_release-keys-cid7-Retail_GB

I downgraded from 4.4.2 because i was trying to relock the bootloader so the automatic ota's would install...waste of time ;)

Phone was purchased in UK from Carphone Warehouse about a year ago.

thanks in advance.
