GT - I9515 Noob topic

Hey XDA!

Last week I've bought my new Galaxy S 4 Value Edition. I've accepted to have 2 years of total warranty.

I've asked the guys in the store about warranty void from root. They said, I will lose it if I root my phone. I'm really need root, so now I'm in a big trouble.

My questions :

-How the service guys know , I've rooted? I know about Flash count in download mode , but is Galaxy S4 able to flash it down with Triangle Away?

-Or is there any other ways to know about root?

And the last one:

- If there is a safe method, what will work, and Triangle Away will fix my problem , please notify me about it in the Comments section!

Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas
Developers! :)

[Q] Complete noob, Need help with HTC Velocity root topic

hello, I've had my HTC velocity for over a year now, i bought it already unlocked, and ever since i had it it's been running android 4.0.3 which I've now become annoyed with. and it doesn't upgrade automatically probably because its unlocked (my conclusion). I've done some digging over the year and realized that to get the upgrade i would have to root it. Problem is i have not the slightest idea of how to go about rooting it. Please help!!!

[Q] G2 issues noob topic

OK, so I've honestly read before posting, and please forgive me if this is already been answered. There's so much information about the g2 here but some of it is pretty old and I've considered rooting for sometime now but just have gotten up the courage. My phone is at&t, I'm running on cricket and had this phone more than a year now, I am very new to this and the main reason I'm posting is because it seems so over my head when I read the instructions to root. I have downloaded stumproot and it seems easy enough, is that the best thing as of now? I have an lgg2, Android version 4.4.2, kernel version is 3.4.0 and software is d80020u. Will I be OK with stumproot?

Data partition size? Best setting? HDX7 [noob] topic

Dear community,

I have the new Kindle Fire HDX7 (32GB). I have rooted it and installed Safetrap 3.75. My ultimate goal is to install the Nexus-Rom. Therefore I have already backed up the Stock-Rom with Safetrap. I think the next step is to create Rom-Slot-1. I'm stuck here as I have no idea which values to choose. I dont need the Stock-Rom (FireOS). I'd like to have my Nexus Rom as the only Rom I want to work with. I have read that it would be better to keep the Stock-Rom on the device nonetheless in case of an emergency. Though I have saved the backup on my PC as well I would leave it on the device too.
When using my kindle with the Nexus-Rom I'd like to use apps, games (especially Point-and-Click Adventure such as Brokens Sword (700MB), Broken Age, Monkey Island etc.) and surf the internet. I'd store some music as well if possible.

I have read that most people say: choose the values to your liking/depends on what you want to do. I tried to explain what I would like to do but I really don't know what values would fit my purpose best. I'd assume that I take the highest values as I want the Rom-Slot to be my only working-station? I've read so many threads now but I still haven't been able to figure that out. :(

My options are:

ROM-SLOT-1:
  • System partition size: 1248 MB (value cant be changed)

  • Data partition size: I can chooose a value between 1.000 MB and 16.000 MB

  • Cache partition size: I can choose a value between 300 MB und 1.000 MB

  • Selected Space: varies depending on the

  • Free Space: 23366 MB (value cant be changed)

STOCK-ROM:
  • System partition size: 1230 MB (193 MB Free)

  • Data partition size: 26901 MB (23367 MB Free)

  • Cache partition size: 1009 MB (990 MB Free)

I'm really lost here. Any kind of advice is really welcome. Thank you. :o
