[Q] How to unroot for warrenty purposes? topic

I rushed into rooting thinking it was as simple as jailbreaking on IOS devices.

I'm worried that my phone is going to break and I won't be able to send it in for repairs.

HTC M8 (TMobile)

4.4.4

S-On

Can anybody help me revert to unroot and delete any red flags?

Should I unroot before installing latest OTA update? topic

I've got a Nexus 5 with Android 5.0. I've had it rooted and unlocked using SkipSoft Unified Android Toolkit. I recently got a notification for an OTA update for 5.0.1. When I tried to install it, it downloaded ok but upon restarting it dropped me into teamwin recovery menu with options for: Install, Wipe, Backup, Restore, Mount, Settings, Advanced, Reboot. Not knowing what to do I clicked on Reboot -> System which booted back into the phone. Nothing changed or got installed.

Does anyone know how I can apply the latest OTA update? Do I have to unroot first, apply and then re-root? Does the Toolkit have support for 5.0.1 rooting yet?

TIA

Rooted with Towelroot - how do I unroot? topic

I have a T-Mobile Note 3, stock 4.4.2 and rooted with TowelRoot.

If I want to unroot, what is the best way of doing so? Since there are different way to root the Note 3, I assume there are different ways to UNROOT it.

PS: When I had a Note 8 that was rooted, I unroot it by using SuperSu (it has the option to do so). However, the root did not get removed. Hence I am asking here.

[Q] Unroot Process Questions - For Warranty topic

Hi all, I have a few questions on returning to stock for warranty purposes, I want to send my phone back to fix the pink camera issue!

The details of my phone are below. I am using the recovery tool TWRP so the first question am I using the right ruu when I download M7 CWM Nandroid Backup CID HTC 039 2.24.980.2 ? I can't find a TWRP one for htc_039!

Second question I was following the instructions in the link http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-t...pairs-0149204/

All is fine until I get to Step 7 loading the ROM and returning to stock, the ruu above is a zip file and when I extract there is no .exe file to run so confused as to whether can just use instructions in the section "Restoring using a RUU.zip" in the link http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/return-stock-guide/ ?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

[Q] need info to unroot my samsung s5 topic

I have the g900h s5 device that I rooted a little while ago. I want to unroot the phone.

when I search for my firmware, I am getting confused by the country codes I see on the files. does the country code matter on the firmware?

when I do the *#1234#, I see:
ap: g900hxxu1ani1
cp: g900hxxu1ani1
csc: g900huub1ani1

on sammobile I search for g900huub1ani1 and I see 3 countries listed.
Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, panama
which one do I choose? does it matter?

[Q] S4 Mini Un-Root help pse topic

Hi guys,

I bought a Samsung S4 Mini (GT-I9190) from a guy. Phone looked brand new, in box with unopened accessories.

However I got a lot of 492 and internal memory errors. The phone shows that I have 32GB free space, but when I connect it to my laptop it only shows 120MB. The phone also complains than it only has 120MB of free internal space available, hence the 492 errors (I think).

After trying almost everything recommended I noticed that when I connect the phone to my laptop it shows up as "serrano3g" in Windows (8.1) file manager. After searching I discovered that the phone has been rooted with "serrano3g". I followed the instructions on "lionking853 blogspot" but the problem is that Samsung Kies v3.2.(something) does not connect to the phone, so I cannot download the drivers needed to un-root the phone.

I have setup the developer option with the "debug-usb" box checked. Also, I cannot do System Updates as it complains of a network error.

Here is some info gathered from the phone:
AP:I9190XXUAMF7
CP:I9190XXUAMF7
CSC:I9190OJVAMG2
Android Version: 4.3
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-933422 se.infra@SEP-129 #1 Fri Jun 21 13:30:42 KST 2013
Build Number JDQ39.I9190XXUAMF7
Custom Build Version: v.s.140918

Guys I would greatly appreciate it if someone can give me some pointers ...

Thank You

Danny
