[Q] Automatically connected to home WiFi but no Internet (nothing works!) topic

Hi all, as noted in subject, occasionally I am connected to WiFi but I get no active connection (nothing comes in or goes out). The only way I remedy this is disabling/enabling WiFi and as this is a small annoyance, any reason this happens? I have an RT-66U router as well, if it matters.

Using a Rogers Samsung Galaxy Note 4, stock ROM, no modifications done to the device.

Lost home touch buttons topic

Hi. Well, I have screwed up my phone. I'm on the VS980. I went into the verizon hidden menu to fix my iffy knock on ( knock off good). I already did the update touch firmware thing but knock on still iffy. I had read doing an aat partial test helped someone so I went through the hidden menu looking for that option. I remember tapping device test( which asked me to reboot), elt test, settings, and enable/disable under the knock on option. I lost the home touch buttons after that. There is no option for home touch in the settings menu anymore. I have restored nandroid, wiped dalvik, system, data, cache and reinstalled Optimus rom, and I restored an old backup of Home. But the home touch buttons never come back. Help!!?

I wonder if I am the only one to think that the Home.apk could use some more app rows and columns...

I had the Xperia L before having the Z3C and found this for it:Extended stock Home Launcher

I tried to install the modded apk for Xperia L but the phone won't "update" the app...

Can any developer take a look on it and try to modify the Z3C home.apk to have some more rows, columns and landscape view?

I've found that I really really love this feature and use it constantly with Messaging, Email and Silk Browser. The more apps I can get that leverage this, the better!

I Initially wanted to mount it on a wall (not fixed) but I think this is a bit more difficult
to QI-charge or plug in. If I put it on a table, I can just use the normal QI stands..

Lollipop 5.0.1 - lag when hitting home button topic

Hey guys,

I got an update for my n7 (2013) last week and i'm on 5.0.1 now, not rooted, not flashed, not unlocked nor anything.

I notices that now when I'm in some app and i hit home button - I get a few long seconds annoying lag. It's happening all the time, and I' m a bit worried. I think that the same was happening on my n5 (5.0 lollipop) but it stopped for some reason and it's working fine.

Anyone experiencing similar thing?

[Q] Huawei Y220 - Every time I load into the home screen I get a "loading" dialog. topic

Bought myself a Huawei Ascend Y220 just yesterday, brand new. Now I installed a few apps, sorted some stuff etc. Set up Skype, Email what not, now I notice when I open whatsapp or browser, skype etc, and press the home screen button, it gives me this little "loading" dialog for ~ 4-5 seconds, does anyone know how to fix this? Should I load a custom ROM? Will loading a custom ROM void my warranty?

[Q] How to remove home facebook share button? - GB 2.3.4 topic

I have already removed all facebook related applications that I could find via Titanium Backup, but the share button in the home screen still exists. Does anyone know which apk is responsible for that button or if is there anyway to remove that button from the home screen?
The following is an image showing the share button (which is what I want to remove) on the top of the screen, it appears whenever a user holds an icon for drag&drop action:

SPMC On Fire TV Home Screen topic

Here is how I have found you can get SPMC on the Fire TV/Fire TV Stick

Install latest SPMC 13.3.3
Open SPMC at least once (you may get a OBB not found error. You will have to copy that folder from another device if you have one)
I copied mine from my Nook hd+ running SPMC
go to Amazon.com and deregister your fire tv
restart the fire tv
re register with your same account
restart the fire tv
start SPMC from the settings apps menu
close SPMC
restart fire tv
SPMC should show up in your Recent menu on the home screen
note: you may have to restart the Fire TV a few times before SPMC shows up in Recent on the Home screen

I have SPMC on the Home Screen of both my Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. I can't post screenshots but this method has worked for both
Hope this will help someone. BTW I am not rooted! On the latest firmware :(

[MOD][FIX] Loose roaming R with MVNO on home network on Lollipop LRX210 topic

After updating from KitKat to Lollipop I got one annoyance back. Since I am on Telfort, a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) on the KPN network here in the Netherlands, I need to switch roaming on to be able to use data and next to it I constantly see an small R next to my signal bars. The small R is there instead of the 3G, H or other symbol defining the type connection you have on the network so you don't have that information anymore.

This issue popped up since the KitKat 4.4.3 update but was easily fixed with xposed framework and the national data roaming option in gravitybox on KitKat versions. But with Lollipop there is no xposed framework (yet) so I couldn't find a solution.

Finally I looked into editing the framework-res.apk of my stock Lollipop rom and managed to add the values that are needed for my provider and created an update.zip which can be flashed in a custom recovery. I have posted that solution on the open AOSP issue for this but I thought it would be good to post it here as well. As a result of some requests I have also included fixes for two other MVNO's than Telfort only. If you also have this issue and would like to get this fixed for your provider please let me know which MVNO provider you have and what the host network is. I can then add the file for your country to the update.zip

The update.zip now contains fixes for:

• Telfort, the Netherlands


• Noverca, Italy


• Yesss, Austria

Prerequisites:

• Stock Android Lollipop LRX210 on Nexus 5 (don't use this when you are on other roms like CM for example, you need to do the edits to the specific framework of that rom )


• Custom recovery installed, I tested this with TWRP

How to install:

1. Boot into your custom recovery


2. Make a nandroid backup


3. install the update.zip


4. Reboot

[Q] Disable home button on DNE1? topic

I've had my S3 since it's release and it's been rooted with unlocked bootloader ever since. I recently experienced bluetooth issues I couldn't resolve so I bit the bullet and odin'ed the "no-wipe" NE1 update. My bootloader is now locked but I used touchwiz ROMs 99% of the time anyway so towelroot is OK for me until I buy a new phone. I'm grandfathered on unlimited data so trying to squeeze all the life outta my S3.

Anyway, I keep my phone in my back pocket so I have always disabled the home button so I didn't turn the phone on when I sit on it. My method was to edit SYSTEM/USR/KEYLAYOUT/gpio-keys.kl, changing the 172 line by deleting "WAKE" or "WAKE & HOME", or even adding "wake_dropped" in place of WAKE. One of those methods has worked on every ROM until now, when even after trying all those combinations the home key continues to wake the phone.

Any suggestions (besides putting my phone in a different place)?
