[Solution]Warning: Generic atexit() called from legacy shared library topic

Some users who rooted the redmi using "native root" method might have noticed that when you call su from a terminal it shows "Warning: Generic atexit() called from legacy shared library". It might stop some command line operations from going further (in my case the debian-kit script). It is the problem caused due to old "su" binary. So here is the new one I retrieved from my Mi3. It works perfectly in redmi 1s too. You can replace it directly and apply the necessary permissions(chmod 644 /system/xbin/su) or replace the one in zip files using 7zip.

[Q] generic tablet rockchip30 Boot logo topic

hello;

I am trying to edit the first image shown when my generic android tablet boots (based on rockchip rk30 chipset).

I have searched and searched and even started unpacking the boot.img/ system.img but I cannot find where the image is actually loaded from.

Can someone help me find the boot logo file please so I can edit it?

Are there any restrictions in terms of colour depth etc?

Just for clarity I am talking about the very first image that shows during power on, not the follow on bootimage.zip that allows animation.

Thanks;

andy

[Q] Any advantage to US generic ftf over UK generic? topic

I am replacing a D6603 from Handtec (UK generic) with a D6603 purchased at a U.S. Sony store (either US generic or global -- not sure which). I use the phone on AT&T almost exclusively in the US.

I noticed that the UK version is on a later build, and since Sony is more popular in the UK, I imagine that would always be the case. Is there any drawback to just flashing the UK version so that I can get quicker updates? Is there a different version I should flash instead? And for clarification -- flashing a different ftf will NOT erase my drm keys, right?

Thanks!

[Q] Generic IMEI (0049.....) and weird Serial number on phone. /efs corrupt topic

Hi guys

So my battery had decided to swell a few days ago in my Note 2 GT-N7100, and suddenly my phone lost network and couple of days later, didn't go beyond the logo screen. I got the new battery (needed to tell my mother that it was NOT my fault that the phone died on me, and she insisted I use the old battery till the day phone dies so couldn't get the new battery before since I had no money and they are pricey stuff) but the problem persisted so I turned to recovery mode, which claimed that my /efs file was missing and could not be loaded. I did not have the slightest clue such a thing existed before this.

I did manage to get my phone running after installing the firmware by Odin and using CWRM to get to root and disabling factory mode, but it seems the IMEI and Serial number are still not right. The IMEI number starts with generic 0049XXXXXXXXXX and the Serial number is 4df7e1b53a26cfcd, which is not same to the S/N given behind the back of my battery. I really need help salvaging this; I want to avoid going to Samsung Customer Care since, well as I mentioned before, my mother has allergy on spending on anything which has 'Tech' written over it, and this will lead to me getting stuck with this phone without being able to really use it. Is there any way out? Please help!
