Cannot access nandroids TWRP 2.8.1.0 & 2.8.3.0 topic

This started on TWRP 2.8.1.0, but is still a problem on 2.8.3.0. I can make a nandroid backup just fine, but when I try to restore a nandroid I get a blank grey screen in TWRP in both internal & external storage locations (screenshots attached). Other than this little "glitch" the recovery is fully functional, I can successfully perform any task in recovery except restore a nandroid backup.
On 2.8.0.1 I figured my recovery was borked so I sought out an updated version, and flashed it via Terminal Emulator, but the issue persists on 2.8.3.0 TWRP Manager would neither show an update or re-flash 2.8.1.0 successfully.
Anyone else run into this on the T-Mobile LG G3 D851?

External SD is formatted as FAT32 & is accessible from within the OS, and recovery except when navigated to through the *Restore* tab in recovery.

Thanks in advance!

-CH

[Q] stuck at TWRP screen after wrong wipe topic

I made a terrible mistake by wiping in the RKC menu. Now I can't access to my tablet anymore (neither adb (no device) nor fastboot (waiting for device) commands work) I'm stuck at the TWRP logo screen. It flashes twice after a hard or soft reset.
With every search I didn't get any answer how to solve this.
Solutions by Buster (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2425581) and Matiosse (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2395644) didn't work
I had KitKat 4.4.4-CROMBi-kk-R1-Oct 1 , F2S, and TWRP 2.7.0.1 rooted and unlocked of course.
Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks, Henk-Jan.

[Q] LG G2(F320L) not booting after OTA with stock recovery with TWRP aboot topic

Hi,
First of all i committed a mistake of thinking that with TWRP aboot + stock Recovery i will be able to do OTA upgrade, which made my phone not booting, undetectable by computer and majorly not getting the LG Flash download mode by pressing any combination of keys., Stucks at LG logo.

Device: LG-G2(F320L)
KDZ stock: F320L21V_00.kdz
1. Flashed this kdz using LG Flash Tool 2014.
2. Flashed from F320L_AutoRec.apk, the images only aboot, and recovery.
3. From DorimanX project generated the boot.img with StockROM(F320L21V_00.kdz) version bootimage RAMDISK.
Everything was fine., till then.

After that, i got the OTA pop up., So, thought of installing OTA. As I had already faced the TWRP bootloop once and in some post i remember i read flashing OTA needs stock recovery image. Here is the place I commited the mistake. So, signed the stock recovery with aboot of TWRP using loki_flash. Accepted OTA. Thats it.

From then, no booting, no recovery, no adb, no fastboot, and unfortunately NO LG DOWNLOAD MODE also it goes.
When i try to go TWRP, it stucks up after the initial TWP message.
And pressing some key combination, the device goes to LG service mode, and showing the IMEI and some list of 3 options in korean which i dont understand. By pressing any of the option device reboots and stucks with LG logo.
Even my device is not shown up in the ubuntu, when i checked "dmesg".
Can anyone help to get the device into Either download mode or fixing the boot.

[Q] Browsing a TWRP backup? topic

So, somehow I got my phone into a bootloop, and I made a backup of my data partition with TWRP. I reset it, and tried to restore the data partition, and the corrupted file is in there (was trying to edit settings.db for hotspot on Sprint). Anyways, when I restore the data partition, it bootloops again. So I want to get into the backup, and replace the bad settings.db file so I can restore the partition and have all my data back. How can I browse the backup using my windows 8.1 pc?

[Q] BootLoader Freezes and TWRP Password? topic

Hello all I've been researching and trying all the methods but cant seem to get this right.

I was trying to install the ZOMBI-X rom and Since I havn't used the prime in a long time i decided to start from the beginning, but when i tried to put the 2.6 TWRP on i think it was for the incorrect bootloader so its asking for a password and cant mount anything. on top of that my bootloader freezes whenever i do anything through fastboot. But I can boot into the rom if i do "adb reboot-bootloader" and then chose coldboot into android.

what can i do about this to fix the issues??? any help would be great thank you and let me know if i need any more info im on Androwook 2.31 right now and im on the A4 boot loader with no USB option if that helps

[Q] TWRP Update path for One M8 topic

Hello everyone and have a Merry Christmas,

I'm trying to update my TWRP recovery because I want to go 100% stock. I'm still running TWRP 2.7.0.2. The most recent version of TWRP is 2.8.3.0.

I downloaded the TWRP manager app from the Play store and easily selected the last available version of the recovery to install.
After downloading the .img file, I get a pop up that looks like this:

The pop up says: "Be sure that the listed path is correct for your device. An uncorrect check may result in bricking your device. You can't flash a recovery directly on Android on some devices. If you can't flash through Android, please choose a different method".

It looks like a "routine" alert, but nonetheless it sounds very alarming. How can I say if the listed path is the correct one for my device (HTC One M8 unbranded GSM international version)?

Thank you for helping. :)

Sdcard - ntfs - twrp topic

First off happy holidays to all. <br />
Had a sdcard question. <br />
<br />
I was trying to copy a movie to my sdcard and it was telling me it was too large of a file (4.2gb). So I reformatted it to ntfs bc I remembered there is no limit for in that storage format. <br />
<br />
Now I can't view my sdcard in twrp any longer? Is that the reason? Does it need to be formatted back to fat32?<br/>

TWRP: Am I missing something??? topic

This might be the wrong forum to post this in but since I own a Nexus 5, I feel that this is the most appropriate place to post this.

I've used TWRP for awhile now and have never understood one very important feature: Being able to delete a backup?

For whatever reason, I cannot access the backups in my storage via Windows File Explorer. I see a BACKUP file but no way to actually access the backups. I've tried using ADB to do a file listing inside the SD card, I've tried using a Root Explorer for Android but all with no avail. What gives? Am I doing something wrong? Are the backups located elsewhere? Shouldn't there be a feature in TWRP that allows you to manage the backups?

Anyway, I post this because my god forsaken SD card is now full and I can't download anything. Let me know.

Cheers,
Chris

[Q] TWRP brick topic

OK, I did search and found nothing. So, I need to ask this somewhere, hopefully this is the place. The similar threads search did not seem to help much.

I have a Tab S 8.4 WiFi. I rooted it and was running Cyanogen 12. I noticed the TWRP 2.8.3.0 update, so I went to install it. TWRP manager kept crashing, so I went to the TWRP site and downloaded the SM-T 700 klimti wifi img file. I used Flashify to flash this, as I have done numerous times. I wish I'd extracted and flashed the zip in TWRP, but I did not. Everything acted normal but when the tab went to boot up it got to the Black screen that announces Samsung Galaxy S, SM-T700, Powered by android. This was it. It flashed this screen constantly every second or so. Non stop. There was nothing any button combination would do. Except it will go into download mode. Nothing else. No hard reset, nothing. Download mode it it. I spent lots of time looking at various tutorials to see what I'd missed, nothing but download mode. So, I had Odin on the computer and the latest firmware from SamMobile, so I figured I could start over and get the tablet functioning. I've used Odin a fair amount before, including the original Galaxy, S III, S4, so I'm not unfamiliar with the process.

So, Odin acts like it is doing its thing, runs through all the steps, says at the end Pass and all threads succeeded, none failed. At the end of the Odin process the tablet acts like it is booting. Up comes the Samsung name with the Bluish sparkly oval along with the standard Samsung tones we hear heading into the boot. That is as far as it goes. The blue and pink colors fade out and I am left with a black screen with SAMSUNG in the middle. Again, no button combination except download mode works at all. It just stays there. Pass showing proudly on the Odin screen. I downloaded and tried flashing all of the various firmwares, same result. I even let the battery drain to zero hoping that would shut it off. It seemed to, but the results were the same, only the download mode combination will do anything.

There is likely user error here (and realize I might kick myself in the end...Oh wait, I already have), but I've run in circles enough to realize I'm probably doing the same sequence with the same error and I not able to see what it is.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong or how to fix this? I hope it is fixable. I had hope since download and Odin at least go through the motions. I would greatly appreciate any advice, suggestions, or help. Thanks in advance.
