[Q] Xoom will not power on topic

A few nights ago, I turned off my Xoom normally. It had plenty of power left.

In the morning, I plugged it in and left it without even trying to turn it on. The green charge light was on when I came back to it. It will not power on. I tried upvolume with power button and also downvolume with power button, as well as power button alone. I even tried up and down volume simulaneously with power. Nothing works.

It has charged for 3 days, but it is dead. It is not modified in any way, and is long since out of warranty.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I hate to buy a new anything, this Xoom does everything I need.

Thanks!

My moto g (2014) wont power on. topic

I was checking my whatsapp today and all of a sudden the screen went blank. The power and volume button didnt respond. I then tried a soft reset by holding the power and volume up keys together. I did get upto the motorola logo during power on, then the screen turns off and then turns on again with the moto logo. This happened time and again. I then tried a hard reset using the recovery by pressing the power and volume down. I then pressed factory thinking a factory reset would help, again the screen turned off and i got a blinking led for a few minutes. Now i am a working professional and dont find time to take it to the service centre. Was wondering if any of you could be of help. Thanks.

Stiff power button anyone? topic

My power button has gone stiff on me, cant even feel the click anymore. Power button still works don't get me wrong, but it just feels really stiff and, cant even really full the button push down when you click on it.

Anyone have this issue? I'm pretty sure warranty covers it right? I dropped my phone a few times, no cracks or anything just a couple of scrapes, will this cause issues for warranty?

[Q] No fastboot menu on Atrix (when pressing power on and vol down) topic

Hello,

I've searched for an answer but no luck as yet, hence posting.

I am following the instructions to flash CM onto my Atrix using an Xubuntu computer. However, I cannot get into the 'fastboot' menu on the device itself (pressing Power on + Vol down). I have a YouTube video of the problem, but I can't post links to external sites as less than 10 posts.

Incidentally, pressing Power on + Vol up does take me to the correct 'Starting RSD protocol support' menu.

Here's the instructions that I've been following:

Quote:

Unlocking the Bootloader with sbf_flash (Linux & OS X)
You will need fastboot on the computer to unlock the bootloader of the Motorola Atrix 4G. Follow the Android SDK guide, to get fastboot on the computer.
Download sbf_flash and the appropriate unlockable bootloader:
sbf_flash: Download
AT&T Atrix 4G Only: Unlockable Bootloader: Download
md5: a5da47565160e0f95b84a1e769b9028b
International Variants Only: Unlockable Bootloader: Download
md5: f609dbc4c5842f9654e44a1980375100
Unzip the sbf_flash zipfile.
Unzip the bootloader and place it somewhere easy to access.
Power off the Motorola Atrix 4G.
Boot into RSD Protocol Mode by holding down Up Volume and the Power button.
Connect the Motorola Atrix 4G to the computer via USB.
On the computer, open terminal and run the following commands:
chmod +x sbf_flash
./sbf_flash <SBF File name here>.sbf
It should take a few minutes to flash the unlockable bootloader, and the device may reboot multiple times. Once RSD lite reports that it's finished (or appears to be waiting for the device even though the device is booting into android), the device should be powered off.
Pull the battery and power back on while holding the Volume Down button. Once you see the bootloader screen with some text options, cycle through the options using the Volume Down and select "Fastboot Protocol". If your device has "fail to boot" message, try to pull the battery and power back on while holding the Volume Up button.<<< This is where the problem occurs

[Q] Hard-bricked Kindle Fire (power controller is dead)? topic

I've got a problem with KF. It was unused for 2 or 3 months and looked like fully discharged. I tried to charge it with low-amper charger (5V, 0.55 mA), got it stuck for 5-sec bootloop.
.
Leaved it for 2-3 minutes and KF totally turned off, without any reaction on power button (no powering on, no charge indicator). Got original 1.8A charger - no luck. Tried hard reset (from 30 sec to 5 mins) - no luck. Tried different chargers from 0.55 to 2.1A - no luck.
Tried usbboot trick - no luck (firekit stuck on waiting for device, lsusb shows nothing).

Disassembled and reinstall battery connecter shows the same result. Leaved it on charger through usb-ampermeter, it showed power consumption 0.6A with battery attached and 0.2A without battery. After battery being charged for 8 hours ampermeter shows power consumtion in 0.2A (so battery looks like fully charged). Disassembled battery connection and measured voltage between first black battery (from black cords to red cords) and 3rd red battery cord (from red cords to black cords) - it shows 4.2V, so battery looks like fully charged.

Now i have such symptoms:
- No reaction with usb cable attached (both wallet and computer 0.5A usb)
- Powers on by single press (power button light for 2 seconds, display with "press power button for recovery" - for 1 second) and powers off without usb cable attached. No reaction on usb cable attaching in this 2 seconds (and no response for power button being pushed while usb cable is connected).
- No reaction on usbboot at all (both battery connected or disconnected)

Any ideas?

[Q] Unable to POWER ON Dell Venue 7 topic

Hello,

I am currently having an issue with my Dell Venue 7 3730 tablet.

A few weeks ago I ran a cleaning utility from the Google app store which seemed to complete without issues with the exception that I could not exit the utility. I then proceeded to reboot the device and the display would not power on. After researching various posts and forums it appears to be stuck in download mode. Installed the Intel Soc drivers and verified that fstk and device manager (Windows 7 x64) correctly identified the device (CloverTrail plus). Any hope of salvaging this device?

Thanks.

Power button audio lag topic

When I turn off the screen the audio click doesn't happen until the screen goes black. On my roommates Nexus 5 with Lollipop the clicks as soon as he hits the power button.

FYI, the audio click happens right away when unlocking.

[Q] Bootloop and power button not working HELP!! topic

I was running unoffcial cm12 for my desire 816 a5dwg variant. My power button just got stuck inside and doesnt work so I had to send it for warranty and so I planned on making my desire 816 stock again. I used the windroid universal kit and relocked the bootloader using it and after that my phone is stuck in a bootloop and it boots to the hboot. I've tried pressing volume keys but before I do anything it switches off. It runs only for 20 seconds and then reboots again. I need to get the phone to stock as to make a claim for warranty. I know there are so many talented devs out there who would have superior knowledge and can help me fix this. Please help me. Thank you so much in advance :)

[HOW-TO] [MOD] Edit Extreme Power Saver Mode Apps topic

I have seen a few people wondering how this is done, and I haven't found any tutorials on it so I figured I'd do my best to create one as detailed and straight-forward as possible.

Although Android 4.4.2 is a bit old I still figured it's worth mentioned in here how to do it for that platform of Android.
For Android 4.4.2 they made it a bit more difficult than what we see in Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4, and for this you will need to know how to use apktool or your favorite editing tool to decompile the ExtremePowerSaver.apk.
Once within that application the methods for changing the applications are the same it's just a matter of different locations for Android 4.4.2 and 4.4.3/4.4.4. Once you have the application decompiled, then it is into \res\xml\default_workspace.xml.
Within this XML you will find the package name of the applications. To change an app you will need to get the package name from the Android-Manifest from the application you want to change to.

Now onto Android 4.4.3:
This location is much easier and doesn't require any decompiling. Instead we are going to go into the ROMs system\customize\MNS\default.xml.
Once within this XML you can do a search for "<module name="PowerSavingLauncher">"
The stock set-up looks like this:

Code:

<module name="PowerSavingLauncher">
      <function name="1_shortcuts">
        <set name="plenty">
          <!--d4bfa4f3-19e4-4792-97bf-89c39e887971-->
          <item name="package">com.htc.contacts</item>
          <item name="class">com.htc.contacts.DialerTabActivity</item>

          <item name="x">0</item>

          <item name="y">2</item>
          <item name="itemtype">0</item>
        </set>
      </function>
    </module>

I highlighted the code that I changed.
You will need to find the class and package name for your application.
(This same method applies to the ExtremePowerSaver.apk, once in that app you will find the exact same code and edit it the same way, but as mentioned above this is usually for 4.4.2.. IF you edit the MNS/default.xml and it doesn't change the application then you MAY need to edit that .apk - I personally have only needed to edit the system/customize/MNS/default.xml for both Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

This is what I have changed mine to in my BoneStockROM: Mail to GMail, Calendar to Camera, and Alerts to Hangouts.
You may change whatever apps you want.

Code:

<module name="PowerSavingLauncher">
      <function name="1_shortcuts">
        <set name="plenty">
          <!--dbacf1b4-3b89-4e8b-bb98-b2e828aa56c6-->

Won't power on topic

My myTouch worked for a really long time, even while overclocked. Today, when I was playing a game (Minecraft) it gets much hotter than normal. So I place it on my fan, just a floor fan, to let it cool down. Once it's cooled down, I resume my game. Out of nowhere, it just freezes and shuts off, then restarts, then turns off again once the BIOS splash goes away. It doesn't power on until I press the power button, then it only runs the BIOS splash and shuts off again. I try again, and it powers on to the boot screen, and then it shuts off again shortly after. I try it again, then just BIOS. And yet again, then a successful boot after letting it charge for about 10 minutes. I take a shower and when I come out it works fine, but 10 seconds into use, while I pressed the Bluetooth notification drawer widget button, it freezes and shuts off. From here on, it won't power on at all. I plug it into computer, nothing. All that works is the dim red LED on the trackpad. I press the power button, trackpad light turns on for a few seconds, then off. I press again, turns on for a second then off. When I hold the power button, the light is on and blinks every 10 seconds. No key combos work. Charge light does not come on when plugged in to either computer or wall charger. Any fix for this?

[Q] Z1 power button problem topic

Hi
Iv had my Xperia x1 about a year now. The phone works fine. The only issues I've had are that the speaker grill on the bottom and the silver ring around the power button fell off. However these were not major problems for me as I don't use the waterproof features of the phone so I've left them as is.
However today my power button has been playing up. If I touch the button, without pressing it, the button acts as if it's been pressed and locks the phone. If I keep my finger on it the phone turns on. The button works fine while pressing it too and the phone is working perfectly fine aswell. It's just this touchscreen button issue. Iv Googled it and most power button problems for the z1 seem to be related to it not working etc however mine works fine.. It works too well actually.
I was thinking maybe the part is loose and needs replacing.
Would replacing the power button fix this and does anybody have any idea what's going on /what I should do?

Thanks

[TASKER][ROOT]Restore Functionality of Back Button LED /Power Button LED on AOSP ROMS topic

Hello Everyone.

As you all know our G2 has a Back Button LED /Power Button LED. What I noticed is usually on AOSP based ROMS [CM, Omni, AOKP, PA.....] this LED does not work at all. I have been trying various LED controlling apps but none of them was detecting backlight LED (Including Light Flow). So I did a bit research on how to control LED behavior & now I proudly present you Few of my Profiles

What it Does?
1) Blink LED On The Wake-up.
2) Slow LED Blinking while on call. (2 Profile for this, both are necessary.)

Prerequisite
1) TASKER App You can get it here At Playstore (Note: This is a Paid application and I am NOT advertising this application in case if you don't know what Tasker is)

2) ROOT (if You are on AOSP based ROM most probably you have Root too)

3) File Explorer / Computer to extract Content of ZIP

Method:
1) Install Tasker application.
2) Copy and Extract the Contents of Zip file in the attachment to /sdcard/Tasker/ ( Create tasker folder if its missing).
3) Now Open the tasker. Select Tasks and Tap on Tasks tab once again that should provide you a menu to Import And Sort. Click on Import and navigate to /sdcard/Tasker/tasks. Import all tasks one by one.
4)Select Profiles and Tap on Profiles tab once again that should provide you a menu to Import And Sort. Click on Import and navigate to /sdcard/Tasker/tasks. Import all Profiles one by one.
5) Enable all the profiles.

I will Upload a video tutorial if possible.

TESTED WITH LG D802.

[Q] Galaxy Note 3 massive battery drain and power button problem. topic

Hey guys.

My first post ever, so please bare with me. :)

I made a big mistake updating to 4.4.2 coz I've had only problems since that. I have a rooted SM-N9005 with a Danish carrier. I have read and read and read for at fix, but can't seem. to find on. . My problem is this.. I can have a fully charged battery, unplug the phone and can, by using the power button, turn the phone off and on again. BUT if I pull the battery out and insert it again after 10 sec, then the phone doesn't turn on. It only turns if it gets the power cord in again. That's the first problem.
The second on is the battery drain. I have done a dalvik clean, cache partition clean, factory reset, soft reset, hard reset, uinstalled pretty much every app that I have... nothing helps. I even bought a new battery.
Can you guys help me or guide me in the right direction on what to do??

Thank you in advance
