OK Google and s voice: s voice is not always on topic

After testing the note 4 nexus 6 and s5 prime, i have come to the conclusion that the always on feature of the note 4 is not always on.

With the google search bar widget floating on the homescreen with the screen on the note 4 would pick up the okay google command 100% of the time.

Now with the screen off or locked, it would pick up the command 100% of the time at times, 0% sometimes( doing this test makes me feel retarded). This leads me to believe that when it doesnt respond, the mic simply isnt listening, an s voice issue. And that the google floating widget uses a completely separate routine for its listening.

Anyone have any inputs on this? Will lollipop fix it? Or is it something that cannot be fixed?

No Voice during calls 4.4.3 topic

Hello!
I have been having a problem where I cannot hear anyone or be heard during calls.

I am running ViperOne ROM 7.0.1 with base 4.3.3.

My question: I went to the Viper ROM website and there I found this:
" ATTENTION:

The 7.x.x rom is based on HTC latest 4.4.3 base and requires you to update your firmware.
You need to do that on your own, because we can’t install the firmare for you with the rom install.
If you don’t install the new firmware you will have*issues no voice during calls.

You can find several threads on xda how to update your firmware."

When I upgraded to 4.3.3, I didn't do anything fancy. I don't know what I did to upgrade it but I now have 4.3.3 and I never "found several threads on xda how to update my firmware."

I know this is noob, could someone send me to the thread where I can fix this, or do I have to downgrade then re- upgrade my firmware?

Thanks, sorry if this question is repeat, I did search..

Sent from my HTC One using xda-developers.com, powered by appyet.com

[Q] "OK Google" voice command screen off with Nexus 5 topic

Hi all,

The "OK Google" works screen off with Nexus 6 & 9

It works with Nexus 5 screen off IF it is electrically powered (wired or with QI induction charger)

Google chose this, officially:

- Because there are no specialized circuits (= low power consumption, etc.) to process this into the Nexus 5
- To avoid a loss of autonomy

(& Unofficially? Make the Nexus 5 obsolete?)

When I know that I will join my home QI charger or my car charger on time, autonomy... ...

Probably there is ONE (...) variable to change in order to allow the operation of the "OK Google" command with Nexus 5 non electrically powered.
Is anyone able to find it?

There is a similar application on the Play Store that works screen off but it works poorly ...
I tried with KitKat 4.4.4

:highfive:

Hi all,

La commande "OK Google" fonctionne écran éteint sur Nexus 6 & 9

Elle fonctionne écran éteint sur Nexus 5 SI celui-ci est alimenté électriquement (par câble ou sur chargeur à induction QI)

Google a choisi ceci, officiellement :

:highfive:

Moto Voice and Hangouts - Outgoing text uses stock messenger topic

I think I found a bug with Moto Voice.

When you use Moto Voice to send a text, it sends the text from the stock messenger app even when hangouts is set as the default SMS app.
It only happens when you use voice commands to send text. It could be through either Moto Voice or OK Google.
Another issue I've found that it it sends out my carrier number rather than my Google voice number?

Anyone else having a similar issue? I'm guessing it's more of an issue with Google than Moto Voice.

Robot voice topic

Maybe some folks here remember the HD2 robot voice problem.
Well, i always thought it was just a bug in the android/HD2 mix.
It could be reset by just turning off and on the phone pad sound or vibrate.
Well, its back. Just sometimes.
Mainly seems to be when i use the recorded remaining credit.
Just me or anyone else?

Decline Call with Custom Voice Message topic

Hi.

When I decline a call it usually says "___ cant take your call right, please leave a message" or something like that.

I was wondering if it was possible to set a custom voice message to like "This number is not in service" for people on my block list, etc.

[Q] Google Voice after update topic

I'm starting a new thread for this as it looks like the original update thread is not the best place to ask. As with other Turbo owners, the recent update broke my phone's ability to use Google Voice for my voicemail. Anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks in advance.

[Q] Google Voice Functionality with 2 Cell Phone Numbers topic

Hey guys, I'll be getting a company phone this week and am deciding whether to transfer my number and incur a termination fee or just use Google Voice until my contract expires.

I have been using Google Voice with the Sprint number integration and I have forgotten how exactly texts work with a Google Voice number.

I'd like to use my company phone as my only phone and not have to give out a new number to friends & family. I know I would still be able to receive calls and text to the old number on the new phone, but would I be able to send calls and texts from the old number on the new phone? Would I need to use the hangouts app to accomplish this? Or would the normal messaging app suffice?

"HD Voice" seems like a gimmick to me topic

I have both features enabled on eligible devices, confirmed my call was on lte, and it sounded the same as the 20 year old codec we still use. Anyone else have a difference experience?

[Q] Issues with Moto Voice after new update topic

Anyone else having problems with Moto Voice crashing whenever a text message arrives? My Moto Voice app just updated to 2.1.09 recently and then the problem started happening...

[Q] Google Voice mail app not taking voicemails ATT Nexus 6 topic

I've noticed that my google voice isn't working like I'm used to.

Expectation: Whenver I get a voicemail to either my ATT #, or GV # that I get a transcribed visual voicemail in my voice app.

Whats happening: No voicemail shows up in google voice app. instead I get a notification that I have a voicemail available and to call in. (assuming it's my att dumb voicemail)

I setup the voice app and to make voicemail go through google voice, not ATT. I uninstalled and reinstalled to confirm GV setup the phone to use GV not ATT.

Can anyone confirm this problem or help me troubleshoot.

[APP][2.3+] Voice Typing Keyboard topic

Achieve super fast typing and editing with the assistance of your voice! Voice Typing Keyboard lets you input and edit any text field on your Android device with your voice. Simply say "Listen" and then start to speak what you would like to input in a text field. You can revise the voice recognition result with your voice too by, for example, saying "Left" or "Right" to move the cursor around; and saying "Delete" or "Erase" to get rid of any character or word. You can spell out letters of words, and insert commonly used symbols with your voice as well. Voice Typing Keyboard also includes a conventional on-screen keyboard in case you need it.

Key Features:
- Input text with either normal speech or word spelling
- Insert commonly used symbols with voice
- Move cursors freely in a text field with voice
- Erase/insert/revise freely in a text field with voice
- Include an on-screen soft keyboard (four rows in portrait mode and two rows in landscape mode) that can be hidden with voice

Voice Typing Keyboard currently supports US English only.

Help Info:
While you can freely say any voice commands listed below at any time, a typical flow of using Voice Typing Keyboard to input text is as follows:
1) When in any text field on your Android device, say "Listen", then after the beep, speak the text you would like to input. (You can say the other dictation command "Spelling" instead of "Listen" if you would like to spell out letters of a word)
2) Check the text shown in the text field,
2a) if there is no error, HURRAY!
2b) if there are errors, you can say cursor commands to move cursor to the error, then say erasure commands, or insertion commands or dictation commands to revise the text. Once all errors are corrected, you can say cursor commands to move to the end of the text
3) you can say an insertion command to insert a symbol, or space, or happy face, etc. and say "Listen" or "Spelling" again if you would like to input more text
4) once you are done with this text field, say "Enter" to commit or move to the next field if you wish

[APP][2.3+] Voice Typing Keyboard topic

Quit typing and start talking! Voice Typing Keyboard lets you hands-freely input and edit any text field on your Android device with your voice. You can say what you would like to input in a text field, and in case that there are (quite often there are!) errors in the shown voice recognition results, you can then revise the text with your voice too. For instance, with your voice, you can move the cursor to any position; and you can delete any character or word in the text field with your voice. You can spell out letters of words, and even insert commonly used symbols with your voice as well. Key Features:
- Input text with either normal speech or word spelling
- Insert commonly used symbols with voice
- Move cursors freely in a text field with voice

Google Voice topic

I'm trying to get Google Voice working as my voicemail, but am having issues.

Has anyone else tried this?

When I tried to change my voicemail provider from "My Carrier" to "Google Voice" I get an error saying that it can't change the forwarding number.

I then tried to change the forwarding number in Call/Settings and I get a "Network or Sim Error"

Anyone have any insight?
