[Q] Moto G 2014 or xperia c3 topic

I will be buying a new phone next week.My galaxy s3is on its last legs. I am tossing up between moto g 2014 or a xperia c3.
I am leaning towards the c3 as sony tend to make a nice phone and hopefully they will do a code drop for devs to do some work on it.
I am also thinking a moto g 2014 as devs are starting to work on it.
I dont want to waste money on a sony if it wont see any love or the moto g if this is as good as it gets.

My moto g (2014) wont power on. topic

I was checking my whatsapp today and all of a sudden the screen went blank. The power and volume button didnt respond. I then tried a soft reset by holding the power and volume up keys together. I did get upto the motorola logo during power on, then the screen turns off and then turns on again with the moto logo. This happened time and again. I then tried a hard reset using the recovery by pressing the power and volume down. I then pressed factory thinking a factory reset would help, again the screen turned off and i got a blinking led for a few minutes. Now i am a working professional and dont find time to take it to the service centre. Was wondering if any of you could be of help. Thanks.

[Q] Note 10.1 2014 edition keys do not answer topic

Hi. My new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition has a major problem: the Home button and back and menu buttons stop working from time to time. Same thing with the on off button that refuses to turn the tablet off. Happens randomly, whenever the pen is in or out. To turn off, I have to plug the tablet on charger, then hold the on-off button for many seconds. Rather annoying. Had the same problem with my other 10.1 2014.... that I scraped trying to change the battery. Any help will be welcome.

[Q] A couple of questions about my new Note 2014 topic

My old Tab 2 and my Galaxy S5 Mini both have one button you can press that will list all running apps. This allows me to do 2 things:

1. Switch quickly between apps I'm currently using.
2. Easily close all running apps with one press of a button

How do I do the same on my Note 10.1 2014?

The help screen says to swipe from the right of the screen, but this merely opens a menu of seemingly randomly-selected apps, not the apps that are currently open. Also this menu appears to offer no way of closing all running apps.

[Q] Which 2014 tablet with HDMI-out? topic

Hi!

I am planning to upgrade from my current Motorola Xoom MZ601. It is running 4.0.4 and is not upgradable to newer Android versions.
I use the tablet almost exclusively for viewing video via HDMI-out connected to my flat-screen.
The Xoom can handle both 720p and 1080i video without much effort, using the MX player app.
It can also handle both hardware and software decoding.

My question is:
Which 2014-2015 tablet would You forum members recommend that have the same (or better) HDMI-out graphic capabilities, compared to the Xoom?
I know for example that my current MZ601 has a hardware flaw which prevents subtitles (.srt-files) from being shown via the HDMI-out when decoding video with the hardware decoder. I'd like to avoid similar problems when I upgrade.

[SOLVED] NOTE 10.1 2014 edition - fake battery percentage / battery drain issue topic

hi guys,

I have learnt a lot from xda and had been using this site for all of my android issues and mods. This is just fabulous.

So, I have been using my Note 1 0.1 since a couple of weeks and it's battery was acting in a funny manner.

PROBLEM
Sometimes it played well down to 60% from a full charge , then down to 15% in a minute and then down to 4% in next 5 minutes. Then i would restart the tablet and watch the battery suddenly having around 35% battery. THIS WAS SO WEIRD.

I used many battery calibrators from play store but none of them worked.

SOLUTION
And then out of frustration, I pulled out the back cover, took out the battery connector, and then placed it firmly, back to its place. switched it on used it for couple of minutes, and noticed the battery percentage. restarted, YAYY! same battery percentage. used it again, restarted, checked again. did it more often and noticed that the issue was solved.

CONCLUSION
The connector of the battery on the main board gets loosen up with time (maybe) and there is interruption of current transfer.
therefore the battery gets it's funny character.

HOPE I SOLVED YOUR PROBLEM, CHEERS!

[HELP] Need LG Optimus 4X new baseband(v20c october 2014) topic

hello all. my phone shows "reorganizing internal processes" whenever i try to make a call. bcoz of this it is unusable as a phone.
also imei is null, baseband is unknown and cellular is in NO SERVICE nothing works: reboot,
other roms (cm 11, zaiben, mahdi etc..),GetRIL app...
also i tried to flash latest v20c but it always stuck at 10%..
but i can flash anything from cwm(philz touch)
so can anyone please help me with the so said baseband in cwm flashable format or a cwm backup of latest v20c update?
i'll be grateful to anyone who looks into this issue.

[Q] Moto X 2014 & Cisco AP topic

I have a Moto X (2014). I need to use it in various locations with Cisco APs. The problem I'm having is that after entering a network pass code, the network transitions directly to saved and never actually connects.

Logs on the phone show:
"WPA: CCMP is used, but EAPOL-Key descriptor version (3) is not 2"

The access points aren't mine to control or I'd patch them.


My desire is to disable pmf in /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, but every time I toggle wifi the file seems to get regenerated with pmf=1 instead of the desired pmf=0.

Any thoughts? Or ideas when we might see a fix ala:

[Q] Worth switching from a Moto X 2014? topic

Hi all,

I currently own a Moto X 2014 and I'm considering buying a Nexus 6. Does anyone who owns the Nexus 6 think it's worth the upgrade from the Moto X 2014? I know the Nexus 6 has better specs, but the devices look near enough identical apart from size obviously. I miss my fast Nexus updates which is the main thing pulling me towards the N6.
