Need advice topic

I have bricked my fire tv that has rbox's custom mod installed ( I wiped my sd partition and restarted the device before replacing the restore.img) so totally my own stupid fault... but I have a guy on this forum that's kindly trying to assist me in restoring it as he has the ability to get access to the emmc chip. He has a complete back up of his flash but what he is needing to know though is : where/how the FireTV is storing unique stuff like serial number/Device ID and whatnot. MAC addresses of Wifi and LAN would come to mind too. But he's pretty sure this contains IDs that are unique.
Would the following be possible : If we would know in what part this information is stored. He could try to make a backup of this from my device once it shows up as eMMC, and then later restore it

Any advice really appreciated as just want to return my fire tv to a working state.

Paul

Hello
Please, i need your advice
I have an asus fonepad 7 (fe375cg) it has Intel Atom Z3560 ((really beast))
running android 4.4.2
i don't know if asus will launch lollipop for it or not
so here is my question
how difficult is building a lollipop rom for my asus fonepad 7(fe375cg)
is it very hard or just imposible ?
my nowlage in devloping is too low
but i will learn if it possible.
asus has put the Kernel Source Code on its website for download (a zip file about 100 Mb )
contains folders named ( linux : kerenel , moduduled

does this Kernel Source Code will make bulding lollipop rom easier ?
or it will only works on kitkat?
and they put also the firmware
a 1Gb zip file contains (META-INF . Recovery , system , boot.img , splashscreen.img , fastboot.img .... )

Need advice topic

I have a verizon Galaxy s5 rooted running Eclipse rom. I'm pretty happy with my setup except for the locked bootloader. I need advice on 2 things, so please chime in. 1: What is the best phone on the verizon network? I was thinking nexus 6 but as I am somewhat new to rooting, modifying and themeing, I look to you for advice. I am looking for something with an unlocked bootloader and the screen size(or bigger) like the s5. Of course I want root. Any advice is appreciated. 2: should I take the ota? Now I'm on ni2 4.4.4. I want to still have root and since tw roms are all we can use, I would like to continue with Eclipse. Thank you in advance.

[Q] S-Voice not working with phone data (works on Wi-Fi). Any advice? topic

So I got a Gear S, paired it with my Galaxy S4 and S-Voice seemed to work well at home, but I found that it didn't work when I was outside. Nothing about S-Voice worked when I was out (except the wake up command "Hi Gear"). Doing a bit of testing I found that it worked when my phone was on Wi-Fi but it didn't work when my phone was switched to data. Oddly enough, S-Voice works from my phone regardless of the Internet connection it has, so this seems to be an issue with the Gear S. The error message I am getting on my Gear S is "Could not find network connection." Any ideas? Tips? Advice? (besides avoiding Samsung's crap, because that's all I've been hearing until now...)

[Q] Buying advice topic

I was wanting an opinion, this is signal reception question. Which device has the better signal? I currently have a s4, and thinking of getting the Nexus 5 or possibly LG G2. Which one would likely have the better signal. I read many times that Samsung doesn't have good radios in them, though I don't know about LG

So i want to monetize my app on the google play store, but i don't know if it is possible to have a wallet for the dev console if your country is unsupported.
Or is it better to use other AD services?

[Q] In desperate need of help / advice - sony xperia z2 constantly switching off topic

Hi guys I am a new member here, so basically my problem involves; my Sony Xperia Z2 keeps turning off whenever I play something on full volume; outloud. I own a refurbished device as my new device broke due to water damage, I sent it to my insurers (TSB) and at a charge of £50, they sent me this. Bare in mind I have had this phone for little less than 4 days, it is also hassle to send the phone back again and claim again, so i was just wondering if there is any software related problems which I could fix - I read something about uninstalling google now, but I have no clue how to uninstall this.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Advice topic

I cracked my display+touch on my s2 plus 3 weeks ago.
I wanted to buy iphone 5s but i got no cash till 5th month of '15 and i got no phone.
Is it worth buying a new display + touch + screen for my s2 plus? The screen is off all time (after i dropped the phone it showed screen but after that all goes purple - touch only works on top right of screen; and after 2-3 hours all goes black) but the keys works and sound works (plugged headphones and press the button to play music and works). The screen is ok but i see a crack that is i think on inside but not big deal (like a lil skratch). How much is it gonna cost me to replace all this? And is it worth?

[Q] need advice!! my htc one is over heating since kit kat update.. topic

My Verizon HTC One (m7) has had an issue of overheating since the last OS version KitKat. Been doing research and have seen that most people have been going to bootloader screen and clearing cache to solve problem and rest battery. Not sure if this true wanted to see if i could get some advice. How do i get to bootloader??? Is it possible to reset battery settings so current is moderated correctly to batter solving heating issues. The new OS Lolipop hasnt made it to my server. I dont want to have a prob and this phone go off in my hand. Its not reach an unsafe temp from what i can tell from research cause over clocked Htc One's have gotten to 114℉ before shutting down. Mine is a stock rom, unrooted, and i have Linpus battery Optimizer on. Temp is reading 104℉, please help. Thank you.

Q : Camera advice topic

Hey

Im trying to get the z1 camera to give decent quality shots, but at the moment they are not so great, despite trying various camera apps and settings.

I am on the latest firmware, is there any difference in quality between the firmwares? if so what is considered the better firmware for camera performance.

[Q] Need some practical ROM advice topic

So I have had a rooted 1st gen Fire for a while now. Mostly I've just used OtterX builds.

I love the ability to use the more advanced Android platform but to be blunt? This is unfathomably slow. Not only does it take forever to open even the Twitter app, the persistent power drain is obnoxious.

Are there any low-CPU use ROMs out there? Should I just go back to stock and then add Gapps to that? Could use some advice.

Regards,
Lepha
