[Q] Lost fastboot access topic

Last night I unlocked the bootloader of my lte tablet running 2.1. Since unlocking it I lost fastboot access in bootloader. I tried everything I can think of, reinstalling naked fastboot drivers in both android and bootloader after purging anything resembling old drivers and alternatively tried getting fastboot access on a macbook and Linux laptop. In all cases my shield is recognised by adb while in android, but not after the reboot bootloader command. It seems so unlikely I broke fastboot access after a successful unlock, I hope someone can offer some ideas of what could be going on.

Thanks a million!

Cannot access nandroids TWRP 2.8.1.0 & 2.8.3.0 topic

This started on TWRP 2.8.1.0, but is still a problem on 2.8.3.0. I can make a nandroid backup just fine, but when I try to restore a nandroid I get a blank grey screen in TWRP in both internal & external storage locations (screenshots attached). Other than this little "glitch" the recovery is fully functional, I can successfully perform any task in recovery except restore a nandroid backup.
On 2.8.0.1 I figured my recovery was borked so I sought out an updated version, and flashed it via Terminal Emulator, but the issue persists on 2.8.3.0 TWRP Manager would neither show an update or re-flash 2.8.1.0 successfully.
Anyone else run into this on the T-Mobile LG G3 D851?

External SD is formatted as FAT32 & is accessible from within the OS, and recovery except when navigated to through the *Restore* tab in recovery.

Thanks in advance!

-CH

[Q] Only PhilZ recovery can access partitions topic

I upgraded from SynergyROM r484 (4.1.2) to LiquidSmooth 3.0 (5.0) and really love the responsiveness of this ROM, but the camera bug is a deal breaker for me. I tried to go back to SynergyROM, but now I can't seem to access any partitions with any recovery except PhilZ, and Aroma can't access anything either. For example, first 2 errors using TWRP 2.8.1.0 are

Code:

Unable to find partition size for '/boot'
Primary block device '/dev/block/mmcblk0p15' for mount point '/data' is not present!'

followed by a slew of other errors. I can Odin back to stock no problem, but I really want to install SynergyROM which uses Aroma. I've tried flashing all kinds of firmwares, bootloaders, modems, recoveries, and ROMs to no avail. Any help? I'll be happy to provide more details upon request.

Lost Access to Storage topic

Whenever I flash a kk rom I lose all access to internal storage (can't use a file manger, I can't view it on my computer or through the recovery), but when I flash one based on stock like CloudyG3 it works perfectly.

[HELP] Lost Access to Internal Storage topic

Running 5.0.1 stock but rooted, and TWRP 2.8.1.0. Noticed that I had no longer had access to my TWRP backups outside of recovery, so I flashed the "fix permissions" file found attached to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...04&postcount=2 which I had believed merely automated the "su / restorecon -FR /data/media/0 / reboot" commands.

After I rebooted my internal storage was blank, although all of my apps and settings are still there and everything works. I can't take new photographs or save new settings though. Trying to create a test blank folder in internal storage fails. Clearly I've gone ahead and broken something.

I have a full nandroid backup from a couple of days ago, right before I updated from 5.0 to 5.0.1, but I suspect there's a simpler solution to get all of my stuff back than that. Would appreciate any help anyone can offer. I'm far from an expert though, so straightforward steps on how to fix this would be very much appreciated. The only thing I could find from googling were the commands above, which surely the file I flashed has already tried to do (and it didn't work).

I'd add that in recovery I can see all of my files and folders just fine.

working with tmo sim card fine for months. now "restricted access changed" ?? topic

My wifes LG G3 was working fine on tmobile network for months. Then suddenly Today out of nowhere it stopped working and is now saying "restricted access changed" Google search leads me nowhere. She says she did not do any updates. Is there a way around this?

The only thing i have done to her phone is root it. it is running KVT49l.vs98510b

Thanks for your help. I am not against installing a Recovery and ROM so that i can get her up and going again. I just dont know if that will fix her problems.

[Q] Recent Bootloader Unlock and root access guides topic

Hello everyone, I'm a brand new member with a couple questions.
I have read many threads here and elsewhere and have recently found two possible sources of information to help me finally unlock my boot loader > backup nandroid > flash cyanogenmod. Profit.
My Droid Razr M has root access. System Version: 98.18.94.XT907.Verizon.en.US / Android JB 4.1.2 / Build Number 9.8.1Q-94
Wen I started, I got used to the idea of staying with JB 4.1.2. It has worked well over the year. And having root and Titanium Backup has given me great power over my phone.

I would like to ask if it is possible to both root and unlock the newer KK 4.4.2 using the these methods I have found and my phone.
First PrankCallPimp youtube guide states I need to flash from JB 4.1.2 to Verizon stock KK 4.4.2 using RSDLite
Second Mr. Blue Coat provides a better stepwise guide outlining root access and unlock procedures, but starting with KK 4.4.2. Very Complete Blog.

I have assembled all of the files these sources suggest to have on hand during the project.

Additional questions. Is PrankCallPimp's method to flash to KK 4.4.2 using VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml files in RSDLite correct? His video cuts out after a while. After flashing KK 4.4.2 the phone will be similar to a factory reset and be susceptible to OTA updates. Currently I use Voodoo OTA to prevent updates. Should I reinstall Voodoo OTA to prevent Verizon pushed updates or go from there to root access and boot loader unlock procedures?
I have never liked following a youtube guide and wonder if there is a printed version I could review before starting. Also I installed RSDLite and my phone can be detected by the program.

I think if Mr. Blue Coats guide is acceptable to everyone, I could follow it with no problems.

What I'm worried about is giving up my currently profitable root access on JB 4.1.2 to go to KK 4.4.2.
It seems that if I really want an unlocked boot loader, I must take KK 4.4.2

If these two guides work, with someone's help, I would be happy to join them into a single clear guide to post here.
I lack the experience most of you have so I'm reaching out with these questions before I even consider going through with this.
Thanks All. Ps. I'm in no hurry.

[Q] [HELP] NEXUS 4 - Cracked Screen\Digitizer - Android KitKat? Access Files topic

Hi,

I realize that there might be an answer to this already, however I have been searching for a while and no such answer has presented itself. I have come across other threads on this forum that explain how to get in. However my concern is that these are really old posts and perhaps point to an older version of Android?!? The reason I didn't follow those tutorials is I am afraid of wiping off any data that might exist on the phone (which is not something I would like to do!!!)

So it is as follows:
LG NEXUS 4 - 02 NETWORK UK
NOT ROOTED
STOCK EVERYTHING
USB DEBUGGING DISABLED
CRACKED SCREEN\DIGITZER - NO TOUCH RESPONSES ACCEPTED

So my question is this, can I access the files on here including all music/photos/contacts/messages etc and back up to a WINDOWS PC. Please forgive me if my responses sound noobish to you, as I am not familiar with Android, so might ask some daft questions.

Thanks in Advance

[Q] How to allow access to /system on Z Ultra C6833? topic

How do kind sirs/ladies.

Basically I'm having trouble finding out how to allow apps (and xposed modules) to have write access to the /system folder. The device is otherwise rooted, and is running stock Xperia firmware 4.4.4. Ideally this would be done without a PC as mine has bit the dust, but if its the only way then hit me. (Figuratively please, I bruise like a peach)

[Q] Write Access to SD card not blocked on Moto G 2014? topic

Several times one could read that Google restricted access to the external SD card for Android 4.4, so that writing is only possible for some app inside its personal folder. But with Total Commander I can write everywhere on the sd card. My german Moto G 2014 with Android 4.4.4 is not rooted (by now).

Did Motorola change the platform.xml in a very user-friendly way or what is the reason that I can write to it?
