[Q] Installed Alliance Rom - Experiencing issues with restart topic

Hi,

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5
I installed Alliance ROM onto my computer. The issue I am having is that when I try reboot/restart, the phone starts to restart, but then the screen goes black, and then both buttons light up, and the indicator (top left) stays light, and it remains in that state.

I can not turn it off, even if I hold the power button down for 10 seconds. I have to take out the battery to reset it.

Can anyone please help me.

Phone Specs:

SM-G900V
4.4.2
G900VVRUJANE9

[Q] Safestrap installed - unresponsive touch screen on bootup topic

Hello,

I have a Verizon S4 (SCH i545) that is rooted with towelroot. I've installed Safestrap 3.72 and was able to successfully get rid of the stock ROM and install Eclipse instead. The problem:

After each bootup my touch screen is unresponsive. There is literally nothing I can do using the screen. Volume, home, and power buttons still work. It was no big deal up to a point, I just put the phone to sleep and then on again and that seemed to work. But now the power button refuses to turn the screen off, although long-pressing it does bring up the power options. I've been resetting my phone each time and that fixes the problem (as in, I can turn on/off the screen to enable the touchscreen again), however it gets rid of all my apps and settings. Eventually I'm back to square one on the next reboot.

Waiting a while will not turn off the touch screen. Right now not even safestrap itself is responsive, which means (according to my own "method") I will need to do a complete reset using the phone's own reset option.

Any ideas?

LG G3 "No OS Installed" topic

Hello I have not been here long but anytime I need help with something pertaining to a phone I come here.

So here it goes. I got an LG G3. I got root then I installed Bump'd as it was released. I then installed a custom rom and all seemed to be good. A few weeks later my phone got stuck on TWRP custom recovery. I managed to get that fixed by finding a thread on this web site. Now I was going to install candy rom from the Sprint LG G3 section but as I wiped Cache and all that other good stuff what ended up happening is that it may have wiped something it should not have . Because now the phone will now only boot to TWRP, and it keeps informing me that "No OS is installed."

Now here's the tricky part. It doesn't seem to want to go into download mode either.

So all I can do it TWRP.

So I have two questions

1. I heard that you could possibly put some sort of file on an SD card and flash it on TWRP to fix it. Is this true ? If so, can someone direct me to how to do so with instructions?

and

2. If #1 does not work... does that mean that my phone is screwed and there is nothing I can do with it at this point ? I have soft bricked phones but never something like this.

Help anyone as I would like to get this fixed ASAP if there is some way to fix it.
Please and thank you!

[Q] Installed TWRP on stock N5 and now in BOOTLOOP topic

Hi guys,

I have a stock Nexus 5 running 5.0.1.

I wanted to root, so I made the first step by unlocking and then right after flash TWRP

Looked like......
./fastboot oem unlock
./fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img (twrp.img is what i renamed the 8.2 version of TWRP)

Then i restarted and now it goes to google screen ---> TWRP screen for 5 sec ---> reboot ----> TEAMWIN logo BOOTLOOP. I get that Teamwin logo over, and over again.

Any help? All I did was install TWRP and I get this.

What I did to try and remedy, but to no avail is...... erase TWRP with ./fastboot erase recovery, then install the 8.1 version of it.

HELP!?

[Q] "App not installed" after factory reset. topic

Hello.
Yesterday i did a factory reset on my phone. After which i am unable to install a "few apps".I have tried installing app from the .apk file i had as backup and also from Play store but no success.
When trying to install from .apk file the app begins to install but after like 3 or 4 seconds it says.
"App not installed"
nothing else.
i tried to install the same app from Play store, again no success. App downloads 100% but when installing it says something like "unknown error: error code"-24" " and then nothing.
This happens for a few Apps only. They are all server softwares that contain Apach,PHP,MySQL.The first of these i installed was KSweb server. Then last time i did a factory reset i faced this problem for KSweb server. I tried quite a lot of things but no success.
So i downloaded another app (DroidPHP) with same functionality it was downloded and installed fine and also worked great. But yesterday i did a factory reset again after 4 months maybe. And now i am unable to install DroidPHP aswell. Also KSweb is not installing and showing same error.
i have an unrooted phone running Jelly Beans 4.2

[Q] Help, TWRP and CWM somehow installed at the same time. can't boot into phone OS topic

So, I attempted to install Cyanogenmod via the installer, it didn't work. So manually, I went and looked up a tutorial and it said to install TWRP because cyanogen wasn't working for me. I installed that and I booted into recovery. It opened CWM, weird. So I try to start the phone, it boots into TWRP. eventually I attempt to install Cyanogen to see where it gets me, I install it and when I boot it does nothing. you see samsung logo then blackness. I am assuming because TWRP didn't get removed from it. I can still access recovery and download mode. What to do next Also flashing with odin did not fix it.

[Q] SOS !! USB Driver Installed successfully but not DETECTED topic

I'm facing BootLoop issue in my Lenovo S820. To my research it has also been found out that it can regain its normal state if resets to factory setting. But when I tried to do so I could see some Chinese script. Please check the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2576746 as some one already have been facing the same language problem. Since then I have been trying to flash my device using SP Flash Tool. To complete the task successfully I got to follow all the procedures. So I install the USB driver and here starts my problem. After the successful installation of the USB driver to my system (have tried in XP, Win 7 & win 8) my device isn't DETECTING and so flashing cannot be done. Please help.:confused::(:(

Rooted and installed clockworkmod! topic

I just recently was able to root and install clockwork mod recovery on my samsung galaxy sIII for sprint (SPH-L710) Android version is 4.4.2 kernel version 3.4.0-1368792 april 19 2014
I am by no means an expert at this and it was a breeze at least for me.
I downloaded towelroot using chrome on my phone and installed ( had to allow 3rd party apps and hit ok to some warnings )
then i downloaded rom manager and installed clockwork mod. This part was a breeze for me did it all right from inside the rom manager app.

I then went and downloaded and installed clockwork mod touch but that part is not needed.

I mostly wanted to report on a sucsesful and very easy way to root and install a recovery mod.
I have not yet attempted to install any other firmware on the phone. I ran a backup from clockwork mod and it seems to have worked fine.
One question i do have though is this. Since i did a backup in clockwork mod with the stock firmware does that mean i now have a reliable firmware i could restore to if i screw things up?
