[Q] (status 0) installation aborted topic

Hi All,

I'm in the progress of learning how to make my own custom ROM for my Hannspree HSG1279 Tablet.

I've managed to root the device, install CWM-Based recovery v6.0.3.1, and have taken a Nandroid backup. From that backup I've placed the boot.img and the system.tar files into the orginal_update folder for Android Kitchen 0.224 - by dsixda.

I've proceeded with creating a working directory, which the contents is the boot.img, system, and META-INF. The Working folder information is as follows:

Android OS version : 4.2.2
Device : gs702a
Model : HSG1279
ROM Name : 20131219E-V1.2.0_HJT-FW8963-10.1-0x27-0x06
Rooted (Superuser app + su) : NO
Rooted (unsecured boot.img) : UNKNOWN
BusyBox installed : YES
BusyBox run-parts support : UNKNOWN
Apps2SD (Apps to EXT) enabled : NO
/data/app enabled : NO
Custom boot animation allowed : NO
Nano text editor installed : NO
Bash shell support : NO
/system/framework is deodexed : NO
/system/app is deodexed : NO
radio.img found : NO
ROM will wipe all data : NO

During the process of creating the rom, I have declined the option to optimize the APK files by zipaligning them, I simply want to get a functioning rom first before I test optional features. I have selected to use updater-script and update-binary in ROM's ZIP file. The rom has also been signed.

Where I have trouble is during installation of the rom. I wipe / factory reset the device then attempt installation, however the error im given is "Error in /sdcard/rom.zip (status 0) installation aborted".

I have tried to research this error before coming on here and asking, however I haven't been able to find a straight answer. My research indicated that its possibly something to do with META-INF, and the updater script, however beyond that I'm not sure how to proceed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated .

Hello I just updated my moto g us unlocked [XT1604] to android 5.0.1 and I'm curious to see how long my phone has been off charge but the new battery status in the settings only shows the approx time remaining..

How do I find out how long my phone has been off charge like it KitKat?

...where there are more toggles and buttons for GT-I8552 stock ROM? I think it's a good idea that Shutdown Menu button, and the toggle buttons for Airplane Mode and Flashlightare included in status bar, rather than using a third-party app.

Moto GPE Status 7 Error topic

I have an Irish XT1032 converted to GPE and am running 4.4.4.

It's unrooted, but the bootloader is unlocked.

I have the OTA update downloaded from system update but each time I go to install it, I end up with a status 7 error. Why is this?

Running stock recovery too btw.

What can I do to install 5.0.1?

[MOD] Batterty percentage in locksreen status bar plus green carrier text topic

I cannot find a way to have the battery % show itself in the status bar with the odexed 5.0 system. I have at least been able to show the battery percentage in the lockscreen status bar. I've also changed the carrier text to green instead of white simply because it looks cool. As long as you're on LRX210 this should work for you. Just move the SystemUI.apk to system/priv-app and set permissions to rw-r-r and reboot. See below to for screenshots and the apk for download.

status 7 error flashing any rom topic

Hi guys Im having the problem stated in the title even though i deleted all the asserts lines in the updater script. I recently just flash a stock rom 4.4.2 http://www.droidviews.com/install-an...10-1-gt-n8020/. Originally its was running 4.1.2 singapore country. After flashing 4.4.2, i find... its really bad and wanted to flash back to my original stock rom. But the problem is got status 7 error when i flash ANY rom.

My Device : GT-N8020 Singapore

Just tried the kies method but failed. It asked for a recovery code :(
Cant get it boot too, stuck at Samsung device model logo [ Probably is due to an accident i made by touching "Clean to install a New ROM' wipe option]

Edit : I do not find any 'getprop' in all the assert lines which i deleted

[Q] Status 0, unable to flash rom topic

Hi guys,

I've been having a problem for a while now with flasing roms. I'm using 4EXT Recovery Touch 1.0.0.5 and when I try to flash a rom it gives this error, I also tried it with CWM, but also didn't work. It doens't seem to matter which rom I try to flash, they all fail.

The log is:
