AT&T unlock note 4 topic

Has anyone unlock their AT&T note 4 yet? i have a couple of techincal questions here.

1. When you try to use tethering without a tethering plan from ATT, it will tell you to contact ATT, will the same happen if you already unlock the phone?
2. Did anyone try to unlock their phone by any way other than contacting ATT?

AT&T Nexus cost more topic

**Warning** Kind of a long read but I'm curious to other peoples thoughts.

Wanted to share my experience today. I went into a Corporate AT&T store planning on upgrading to a 32GB MB Nexus 6 on the Next program. I'm good with it being carrier locked and I'll just remove the AT&T bloatware. I was excited that they had them in stock, however I noticed that the retail price was for 2.99 instead of 9 like Google has it for. I asked the rep and he was surprised and looked it up. I told him that other carriers were selling it for 9 also, and he verified it but couldn't explain it and mentioned that they can't match it either. I asked why do I want to pay like more for it to be carrier locked and have bloatware installed (okay with it but not gonna pay for it).

At home, I called 611 to see if they would match it and see if they knew why. The first rep basically said that was the way it was and didn't really seem interested. The second time I called (I know now maybe I'm crazy but didn't think its right), I asked for their loyalty department cause I know they have more power. The guy there said he was being told that its not ATT but the Manufacture that is dictating the price. I told him that Motorola has it for 9 on their website and it doesn't make sense that they are letting everyone else sell it for one price and making AT&T sell it higher. Told them that I may change carriers if AT&T thinks that its good business practice to charge more then everyone else.

I want to point out that:
1. I was never rude or demanded anything. Just told them that I hope it gets pushed up and corrected.
2. Realize that this is a first world problem and I could just go purchase it from Google or somewhere else but I feel its the principle. Its not right to charge like more and add to the fact that I would have paid higher taxes.
3. They still ended up not matching the price but did offer me a discount off the contract price but told them I didn't want a contract.

[Q] AT&T 4.4.4 update via SD Card? topic

I'll cut to the chase. I've read about 200 pages and can't seem to find what I'm after. I read the noob threads which were very informative.

I am located in Australia. Bought an AT&T Galaxy s4 from eBay Hong Kong. My last phone was an HTC and I used numerous ROMs on it but I want to keep touchwiz and samsung apps for now. I'm not ready to ditch all the features on my new phone just yet by installing a custom, stripped down ROM.

My GS4 came with JB 4.3, Baseband version MJ6.

I want to apply the AT&T 4.4.4 'official' update, but due to being on a different carrier in a different country, the OTA update just won't happen.

Can anyone point me to the official 4.4.4 firmware ?

[Q] I lost LTE on AT&T topic

I was on a trip recently and I turned off LTE through quick tile because the place I was staying at did not have LTE. Now, I seem to be stuck on HSPA.

I reset network settings and even did a complete wipe of everything and I am still stuck on 3G. I have Preferred network type set to LTE (recommended). I am using the ATT LTE access point (screenshot attached).

Any ideas? Any way to check if it's hardware of software? I am running 44S.

I used to have LTE here and my gf's iPhone 6 has LTE in the same location.

I've been lurking the ATT note 4 forums and found this little guide. It doesn't Uninstall the apps just disables some that you can do normally.

For now it's at least something to help for us unfortunate ATT folk.

I tested it on my edge and it worked. Frees up a bit of ram.

Call AT&T Retentions for Note 4 deal!!! topic

After giving my T-Mobile Note 4 to my brother for his birthday, I tried to see if I could get a deal from Ma Bell themselves. I was successfully. They price matched the T-Mobile variant at 9.46. I did AT&T next at 12 month of .30, and received a credit on my bill for . Its not the greatest deal, but hey its better than nothing, right? Not too mention I plan on trading the device in after 12 months, so I will only have paid 8.

Just thought I'd share. Give it a shot, you have nothing to loose. :cool:

[Q] I'm So Confused! D851 now on AT&T... What ROM's?? topic

So I got a D851 from T-Mobile, rooted and loaded TWRP, got G3 Tweaksbox, XPosed, Busybox, etc. Great phone!... T-Mobile network sucks, so I got the unlock code from them and switched to AT&T. After adding att's APN and installing att visual voicemail, most everything is working, but some voicemails have to be called, others are visual, some texting features are funky (Handcent won't send)... More funky stuff showing up each day...

Anyway, time to load a new ROM. But there's the rub! It's a D851, but I need AT&T flavors of carrier specific stuff! Scared to load D850 based ROM's for fear of bricking. :eek:

What do I do? :confused:

Bootloop at At&T and battery logo topic

Hi Guys,


Need help for captivate. Its has gone into boot loop, it restarts at At&T logo and if I plug the charger, it shows battery icon and reboots again and battery is also not charging. I tired to one click stock different version including boot loaders, still having the same issue. It was also not going in the download mode earlier so I had to use JIG for this. Please guide me how to get out of this trouble.
It will be even better if you can suggest me how to clean it completely like all the partitions and flash it to stock using ODIN because it looks like one click odin method is not able to solve this issue.

I have already tried:

AT&T Gear S pre-rooted NJ7 rootfs.img topic

Pre-rooted for AT&T Gear S.
I made and flashed on my Gear S with no problems, but I still can't be 100% sure nothing will happen to you.

1: You should already be on NJ7 & have the AT&T R750A
2: Download .zip & extract R750AUCU1ANJ7-rootfs-rooted.zip
3: Put watch in download mode.(Hold the Home button till the screen says rebooting... in orange letters, when that happens start tapping the home button I'd say around 5-6 times, when the menu comes up tap down to Download and hold the home button.
4: Flash rootfs.img.tar.md5 in the AP field within odin

Enjoy and lets get to modding.

Note Edge and NFC (AT&T) topic

Has anybody been able to use AT&T's Softcard to make payments at merchants? I've tried several times and haven't been successful. I verified that NFC was on.

I also have those samsung TecTiles that I can read using my Note 3 but gave me ""NFC tag type not supported" with my note edge. Starting to wonder if I have a defective NFC chip on my phone.

[Q] AT&T HTC One M8 Stock to Google Play Edition, and Converting Back to Stock topic

I am thinking about converting my HTC One M8 on AT&T to the Google Play Edition with OTA updates. I would unlock the bootloader, gain S-Off, get TWRP, and change my CID for OTA updates.

However, I have heard that it is not super simple to convert back to completely stock HTC sense firmware. I have heard it is easier with the HTC RUU that was recently released, but it's supposedly more difficult to convert back to stock because of partition sizes when converting from the Google Play Edition back to regular.

Is it really as simple as changing the CID, running the RUU, and removing the tampered banner and relocking the bootloader? If it is more complicated than that, what steps would I take to converting back to HTC 100% stock?

BTW I have seen threads regarding this, but the directions didn't seem very clear. Thanks for the help, and I would appreciate it if you could explain things as simple as possible. Thanks

[Q] note4 says at&t but tobile model number sm-n910t topic

my question is pretty straight forward is this a root-able note 4
my phone came in an at&t box i am aware that the note 4 from at&t is not currently root-able
however the tmobile version is and their model number is the same as mine the sm-n910t my phone does not match any of the at&t model numbers which at this point leave me quite confused as i paid out of pocket for my phone w/o a contract i don't want to be stuck with a nice shinny 700$ paper weight.

ps this would be my first time rooting and dealing with a boot loader

Maybe someone knows off the top of their head: My wife wants to give my "retired" AT&T M7 to her mother in China. Does anyone know if the AT&T M7 will work or can be made to work in China? Do any of the Chinese telecoms use the teeny tiny sim cards like the one in the M7? Which ROMS, beside stock support Chinese character sets? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Long time lurker. My Cappy Glide is running Bubor's CM11 and being used on the AT&T network. For the glide, I currently have a 3G standard-size sim. I recently got a 4G phone and it requires an AT&T 4G-capable micro-size sim. I would still like to use my cappy from time to time. Will the glide still work using the 4G micro-size sim and an adapter? I know the glide won't get 4G speeds, but will everything else still work (e.g. voice, text, 3.5G, etc)?

[Q] LG G3 on AT&T data connection very slow topic

I have the same issue. My phone is about 1 month old, previously I had a Blackberry Z30 Unlocked and connection was way better, even with 2 bars I could use Pandora all day at work and could connect to apps, and websites. Now on LG G3 even Google Play won't connect many times as it times out because connection is too slow. I think there is an issue with the way LG G3 connects to AT&T, I mean how can an unsupported device like Blackberry Z30 (bought it on Blackberry site as AT&T doesn't sell it) work very well and yet LG G3, sold by AT&T doesn't work well.

PS : I get 4G and some occasional LTE, but still speed is pretty slow and device consumes the battery pretty quickly.
