[Q] PRESTIGIO MULTIPAD 7.0 PRIME 3G DUO (PMP7170B) boot loop topic

Dear Forum Members,

I have purchased this tablet and I wasn´t able to install bigger apps due to the ROM partiton, so I have decided to extend the ROM partition by using this guide found on google: "[HONGMI/REDMI]How to increase /data partition size " which uses Meteos.apk
and I have bricked my tablet.

I am stuck in boot screen:

when I am applying official FW through CWM I got a messsage Error: Partition table not match.
When I am applying my backup CWM I got a message : Installation aborted.

I was also trying to use adb to use custom rom, however I got a message: Error: Invalid OTA package, missing scatter.
I would like to ask, if there is some way how to unbrick it?

I would trully appreciate any advice :)

I just can avoid a lengthy post because i need to explain my situation clearly
I was using a wifi with the phone as well as playing movie when i discovered that the battery was weak. I Stopped the movie but not the wifi, then plugged the phone to a charger and went to sleep. I woke up next day trying to put on the phone but NO. I immediately sensed it might be a drained battery. Plugged it in, now with the red LED flashing and then the phone was on automatically but off again when it gets to the HTC logo. It repeats this process again as long as the charger is still connected. I plugged it to PC same result. Then I left it that way hoping that it will soon charge up.

However, with the boot loop I can still get to the bootloader/fastboot menu pressing the VOLUME down button. I managed to run the latest RUU.exe (AT&T ONE X 4.2.2, hboot 5.18) that i was using before this trash happen BUT the phone will no longer connect to pc as MTP device. It does connect as fastboot USB when in that mode and I tried using that mode to run the RUU.exe but it fails again (USB error message) when it gets to 'WAITING FOR BOOTLOADER' since the phone will start to boot loop at that instant. THE BOOT LOOP A HEADACHE!!

No matter what I tried, its same boot loop (stops at the HTC Logo and reboot). I even tried to unlock bootloader to enable flash it with a custom rom BUT after selecting YES to unlock from the fastbook screen, it reboots to htc logo and starts loop. When I checked my status, it still shows LOCKED.

That's my problem. pls I need HELP! Somebody help me, I loosing my work & best friend.

[Q] Boot loop problem after restore to stock 2.3.5 backup from custom ROM 4.3.1 topic

Hi,

First time posting Reasonably Nooby...-ish to hacking around with android but pretty techy in general and have done a lot of reading to try and fix this myself before posting.

Setup: HTC Desire S, ClockworkMod ver 5.8.1.5, HBOOT 2.00.0002 S-ON Unlocked bootloader

I have been running the stock firmware Gingerbread 2.3.5 from new (rooted by me) running CWM Recovery ver 5.8.1.5. I took out my SD card and put a blank one in (possibly stupidly, didn't re-format first), I took a nandroid backup of the phone. Rebooted then changed a few phone settings/apps and restored the backup to test it was okay, and it worked fine.

I then flashed a custom rom (Carbon_4.3.1_1114_saga.zip) and (gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip) from the same sd card, cleared all cache, dalvik, data etc which boots and works fine except that I have major issues with the sound in that it doesnt ring, no notification sounds and terrible in call audio, so have restored my backup through CWM.

As soon as I restored my backup the phone goes into a boot loop. I tried clearing all data, cache, dalvik cache but it made no difference. I have tried a number of things including;

I then tried flashing boot.img to the phone from my nandroid backup in fastboot but again that made no difference.

I read through and followed the boot loop post on here but that made no differnce either.

I tried copying all data off sd card, formatting (through windows) and copying data back, no difference (more of a desperation attempt).

I can flash the custom ROM back to the phone and it boots again into that rom fine

One thing to note which may or may not have anything to do with this at all, is that when I originally wiped the dalvik cache before installing the custom ROM: from my memory, it did so with no errors. Now as soon as I select wipe Dalvik cache in CWM before even confirming to wipe, I get an error: "E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]", however when I do a "wipe data/factory reset" in CWM it shows it wipes /sd-ext. (this part is something I have not much knowledge on).

I cant help thinking theres something I've missed or can do that will get this to suddenly boot. Any help would be really appreciated as I've put a lot of hours/late nights into this so far and would now really like a fully working phone back.

As a side note; I believe from reading, putting a stock RUU update back on will solve the problem but after devoting a lot of hours trying to find one for my phone, I've not had much luck as nothing on HTCdev any more and cant find one for UK on Orange (now EE). And a lot of old links are now dead. As a side question does it have to be the firmware that my carrier sent out exactly for my country, I've read you can extract the rom.zip file from the RUU.exe so could I flash one that is world wide or a uk from another network provider or my network provider from another country, and then restore my backup to my own one, would that actually work/make any difference or just fail?

Thanks for any help

[Q] factory reset. boot loop topic

Okay so i just got my nexus 6, after a month of waiting. I was at work and had my friend pick it up and bring it to me. I went to lunch and opened at work started the setup and played around with it a bit. But having skipped so much initially due to not being home i felt i should start over and did a factory reset. It had the android on the screen and said erasing. After a while of having that screen i got a little concerned and tried turning it off. It imediately restarted and it was booting up for a while. My lunch ended so i left it charging while it booted up. 6 hours later i get off work and it was still booting up i tried turning it off and getting to the recover screen but everytime i try turning it off it just reboots imediately. I have no idea what to do, i tried opening it up and just ended up scratching the bottom, which kills me. Please help.

i9500 boot loop topic

Hello,
I had been using my i9500 for quite a while now, with no issues.
rooted, Hassan rom , Philz Kernel, worked flawlessly until yesterday.
suddenly my phone started rebooting indefinitely, not entering recovery or download modes.
I tried mashing the buttons a little, and i got to the download mode "Warning" screen (unable to go any further) without holding my power button - meaning only by holding both home and volDown keys.
anyway, this lead me to believe my power button is malfunctioning, yet i can still normally press it (Clicking as usual, as if there is no physical damage) and I did not drop or damage my phone in any way.
all of the online threads are regarding phones stuck on boot animation, yet mine is flashing the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500" white over black screen (before the boot animation) and doesnt reach boot animation.
i want to believe my data is still reachable as i have not made any backups lately, this is why I came here.
if anyone has encountered any similar issue, please shed some light as this is the first time i had been unable to solve a "boot loop".
thanks in advance!

(ps, phone is still stuck on the loop, i let it keep doing so overnight to let the battery die, plugged it back in to no avail)

A Few Questions (AFQ) About Boot Loop topic

I'm not an expert in Android, nor am I an expert with computers, just an average joe in the Android world. Since the time I got myself into this community I never stopped learning something small. I was able to root my phone, install custom firmwares, unroot my device, do a NANDroid back up. All of this done with the help I got from an online source. Now, I'm looking forwardt to do further tweaks in my device's system. It might sound risky, but I'm enticed by what I've known about how far an android device can be further improved. But before I do any of this, I'd like to know the appropriate steps to do when something goes wrong like what if device ends on on boot loop.

Questions:

1) What is boot loop?
2) What causes boot loop?
3) Is it the same with a bricked phone?
4) Can the phone be recovered from it (boot loop / brick)?
5) What should be done when a phone is on boot loop?

I humbly ask everone to share a bit of your knowledge about this.

Thank you.

A Few Questions (AFQ) About Boot Loop topic

I'm not an expert in Android, just got into it, nor an expert with computers. My phone is already rooted, and never had any problems. All these were done by myself alone with the help I got from the Internet. And like anybody else, I can't afford to do something uncertain. But, knowing the fact that I already have (NANDroid) backed up my ROM via CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5, I'm looking forward to do more tweaks on the system using utility apps i.e. Device Control, etc... but I'd like to know first what needs to be done when something goes wrong like what if it ends up on boot loop.

1) What is boot loop?
2) Is it something that makes a phone unusable?
3) Is it similar to a bricked phone?
3) If not, how can the phone recover from it?

Kindly, share knowledge concerning this stuff.

Thanks much XDA community. :fingers-crossed:

[Q] chinese tablet (digiin x10/iRulu) "factory reset" loop topic

After rooting the tablet this afternoon using "Genius Root" I somehow managed to get it stuck in a hard (factory reset) loop. It's a digiin/iRulu X10 on android 4.2.2. Got the tab rooted and was loading some apps and playing around. Loaded SuperSU to replace the KingUser app loaded with the root - it was after that (don't remember what else I'd done) that it reset and, on rebooting, was in the reset loop.
Did manage to (once) get to a screen showing some options but don't know how I got there and can't get back to it. I tried an option that was something like 'use .apk file to reboot' and that didn't help.
Any ideas on how I can break it out of the loop or get back to that options screen?
I have also tried the 'power/volume' reset with no luck...
Thanks much in advance for your help, Vern

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace GT - S5830 boot loop and error. topic

Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong spot.
I'll just get to the point.

So about 6 months ago I was using the Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 (Aus) and as it has a terrible internal memory, I decided to root it and try to get some of the unwanted apps off. Worked like a charm, nothing wrong until I had to take the battery out as it froze one time and now I am stuck with a boot loop -.-
I tried looking into trying to fix it like I had in the past but I got frustrated and gave up. Now in current time, I want to try to fix it and get it working again. So I got the stock firmware as well as the latest version of CWM for it and the recommended version of Odin, I get the phone into download mode and then come across an issue where my laptop says that it's connected (while I have Odin up) but is an unrecognizable device. First thing I do is try to factory reset it through the recovery menu but I get the error- E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block.mmcblk0p2

I did a google search on both the boot loop and the error but I can't do anything people have said to do/try as my laptop isn't letting it be a recognizable device
I have done everything I've read in the past and have learned from past experiences but no luck. So what can I do to get the phone to work again?

If anyone can, give the method with pictures as well as I can do it better through pictures rather than reading it and hoping all goes well :P
Thanks :)

Boot Loop topic

I have had my HTC One M7 shortly after it was release. I got it from ATT. I immediately found a guide here and rooted it. I had TWRP and every time ATT tried to push an OTA I would refuse. I haven't bothered with it until a couple weeks ago when I wanted to put in KIT KAT. so I found m7_Stock_Rooted_4.18.502.7_odex.zip. I did a dirty upgrade, as the thread said it was okay. And it was. I am going on a trip so I purchased a sim unlock code in between upgrading to kitkat and today.

I got another OTA. I must not have read the bootloader correctly to refuse the install. I was no longer rooted. I come back to XDA and thought what the heck, I'll try out this ROM, it looks nice: Android_Revolution_HD-One_83.1.zip. I use TWRP to put the ROM in and now I am full of fail. After a little bit of Google I decided to try to do a factory reset. And now I am stuck in a boot loop. I have went back to Google but so far all I have seen is use adb or some other method to put things on the "sd card". But how would I do that when this phone doesn't have a sim card and I can't hook it up to my computer anymore? FWIW at some point in the boot loop my computer will recognize the phone, but it won't stay in that state long before it goes away. What happens is my phone starts too boot. Boot screen comes up. After about 10-15 seconds it restarts. This time saying entering recovery.... at the top. That lasts for about 2 seconds, phone goes black and reboots like normal. Over and over.

Best I can do is get to the android hard reset screen by holding power and reset screen. But that is saying "tampered" and "unlocked" at top. I chose the factory setting option and that doesn't do anything to alter the current state.
