vzw sch-i545 vrufnk1 biggie after knox removal topic

Hello to all...a search of the title of the post doesn't yield much so here I am. I did a bloatware removal that included Knox and I'm getting many forced closes: messages, phone, contacts... when phone closes it actually puts phone into airplane mode? (without symbol) for a second. Any attempt to boot to recovery or restore from titanium yields a soft brick. I like to avoid another full wipe to box fresh again if possible. Thanks for any input!

Root without increasing counter KNOX topic

Hi guys

A few days ago, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F model)
Now I would like to root this device
Is there any way to do this without increasing the KNOX counter?
Or should I wait for the Lollipop update?

What is Knox an why do I care? topic

Please forgive the catchy title as well as my ignorance as while I have been around computing stuff for a long time, am kinda new to the Android stuff.

For me, I picked up a Samsung Strat II this summer, an have gotten a bit used to that, so just grabbed a 8.4 for Xmas as I have more uses for that, an would like to get that running as best as possible.

For the Strat II, I did root it with Towelroot an with no noticeable side effects, so understand the hows an why's of this.

But in reading the forums for the 8.4, have been seeing this thing about tripping the Knox from messing with the OS in anyways in regard to rooting.

From the little bit I have read, it seems to be some kind of root tripper, an would assume that voids any warranties too, but was wondering if some could explain it a bit more to me, an perhaps answer the following questions.

1: Does it in fact trip from a root an does this void the warranty?

2: This does not seem to be part of my Strat II OS, so is this something newer?

3: If indeed it is just a warranty thing, do I care once it's out of warranty? Which I think is one year?

4: Is it just a OS recording thing, or does it mess up the tab in anyway, software or hardware wise?

5: From what I have read, once tripped, its permanent an there is no way to reverse that even from a complete system reset, so is that true?

So those are just a few at the moment an again, please forgive my ignorance, but hey, if you don't ask, you don't learn.

Thanks for any help

[LINK] to a [GUIDE] Disable Knox and Ota without root ATT. topic

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2976386

I've been lurking the ATT note 4 forums and found this little guide. It doesn't Uninstall the apps just disables some that you can do normally.

For now it's at least something to help for us unfortunate ATT folk.

I tested it on my edge and it worked. Frees up a bit of ram.

Disable Knox and the OTA without root topic

I have a script below to block Knox and the OTA. First off I take no credit for the files other than modding the script to work for the apps I wanted disabled. Credit goes to Rootjunky for the files for the Droid Turbo. First you will need to download the Droid-Turbo-Block-Bloat-Ware.zip . Unzip the block bloat-ware zip file and copy the attached Block Knox and OTA.bat to the Droid-Turbo-Block-Bloat-Ware folder that contains the other .bat files. Next enable developer options on your phone and enable USB debugging and connect the phone to your PC. Run the Block Knox and OTA.bat file, follow the instructions and allow USB debugging on your phone. That should do it. There should not be System updates in your settings menu. If you want to enable Knox and the OTA again just copy the Enable Knox and OTA bat file as you did with the previous one. If you have ADB installed you can just run the attached bat files by themselves.

[Q] Knox 0x1 and about OTA topic

Hey guys... I've flashed twrp and obviously now my Knox is 0x1... I saw that my phone is showing it's have been modified, what means that I can't receive OTA... I reed somewhere that I can fake this status with wanan xposed, and download the update by OTA, but I'll can't install... What I wanna know is if I can install that update via twrp, copying the downloaded update by OTA and pasting in the sdcard... because will be very annoying to download the full stock ROM, that have about 2gb, every time an update comes... thanks and sorry bad English

Downgrading Knox flagged device or other outlook sync idea? topic

I was given a "brand new" S4 9505 which turned out to be knox flagged 0x1 running kerner 4.4.2 on Samy Deluxe Rooms - Pick your king Rom. So I busted my jewels reading up on knox etc which were news for me. From what I found out Kies will NOT work past 4.3 as Kies3 is required for syncing calendar and contacts and thats busted (Read something about a fix coming out but no followup). Question is, since the phone is rooted but also knox flaged allready, is it possible to rollback to something that still works with kies 2.x? If not, any good suggestions on syncing solutions? Tried a couple of 3rd parties solutions but either they are outright crap or trial mode does not allow to judge. Syncing my calender 100% correct, as i did with kies, is of outmost important to me for business purpose. As I really knew nothing about 4.3+ issues prior today, some links assuming solutions exist will be more than welcome

Also, to make sure, Kies is able to see the name of my device while attempting to connect but this always ends up with fail and connection being lost. This I take it is the standard problem with kies nowdays, right?

S5 warranty and knox 0x1 info. topic

Hi I just want to a inform you that today I just picked up my galaxy s5 from warranty for front camera problems and I was knox 0x1 and they replaced it with new imei and all.i was on xtrestolite with costume recovery but before I return it I flashed stock firmware.
so after all the procedure is done I asked to talk to the technician who saw my phone and asked him about the knox 0x1 warranty and told me that the 0x1 is like a safety for Samsung when they think that you have damaged it, they use the 0x1 to void the warranty, ex overlook or fried Wi Fi chip.
But if the damage on the phone is obvious that is not done by the user they ignore the knox 0x1 and they accept the warranty.
I didn't ask much because the fat manager was on his way and I could see the technician wasn't very comfortable seeing the manager aproaching so I said thank you and bye.

So that was a relief for me I was afraid they will refuse my warranty because of knox 0x1, and there I was playing it cool on the first 3 months about not caring about warranty :D

Does Knox really affect warranty? topic

Just got off with samsung support and the agent told me knox being 0x1 won't affect the warranty. I'm probably going to root anyways, but if anyone has any actual experiences with samsung and a 0x1 warranty, would you care to share? :D
