I9505 [4.4.2] extreme lag after charging. mpdecision process 25% cpu usage. topic

I have the problem that my Galaxy S4 (rooted) becomes laggy or totally unresponsive after fully charging. If I only charge to around 85% and disconnect the charger there's no problem. I can do this several times over days and the phone works fine. But if the charge level reaches something around 90% or more (hard to check the exact number, but it does not have to be 100%) the phone starts to lag. Sometimes the phone locks up completely (pushing the power button a long time reboots it; I did not yet have to remove the battery), but most times it's just very unresponsive. Menu/back button hardly work (light up, but are mostly ignored), the home button most times triggers the task manager and does not go to the home screen.
If I can get as far as to start "OS Monitor", I can see a "/system/bin/mpdecision" process using up to 25% CPU (essentially hogging one core). Killing the process (a new mpdecision process, that uses below 1% CPU, restarts immediately) makes the phone alittle bit more responsive, but not back to normal. If I try to check information about the CPU cores OS Monitor hangs at "gathering information" about the cores (works without problems before the lag).
The only thing that fixes everything is a reboot of the phone.
I've tried a factory reset, even reflashed the firmware with odin, but that didn't change anything. What else can I do? Currently it's very annoying that I have to babysit the phone and reboot it as soon as it's fully charged.

Help with Battery Usage dboxed_process4 topic

Hi,
I'm trying to find out what is using my battery. I left my phone off chager for 13 hours after a full charge with no usage and in 13.5 hours I've used 40%. There are three processes using 50%:
dboxed_process4: 24.4%
bluetooth share: 18.3%
system (mediaserver): 6.7%

While it was on charger, I was using pandora so I assume the second and third items are related to that. I can't find anything on the first. I'm using GSAM Battery Monitor Pro. Phone is not rooted. I'm sure the battery is related to an app as I was getting about 1% an hour on standby when I have very few apps installed. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

does this help chrome usage heat/performance? topic

I just want some feedback if this helps anyone else or makes a difference for anyone else. It seems to for me, I want to make sure its not placebo/different usage. Heat seems to be less, performance so far seems to be better.
Its just turning off Network Action Predictions in chrome settings/advanced/privacy.

[Q] Ubuntu usage questions topic

Hi, I've been using Ubuntu Touch Vivid Vervet on my Nexus 4 for past few days and I have some questions:

0) Do I use the best version? I've found out it should be released on 2015, so is this some preview version? I'm using 15.04 (r1)
1) Is there a way how to get notifications from apps? I mean for exmple emails (gmail) or facebook (not necessary), mainly the emails concerne me
2) is there a way how to change default white background on apps scope?
3) is there way how to get step counter working? I've seen it on screenshots on welcome screen bubble statistics and I'd like to have it too
4) how updating works? Does this welcome screeen bubble statistics persits after flashing new/other builds? Can I somehow backup and then restore it?
5) can I somehow access internal storage? (I dualboot with lollipop).. I've found this guide, but it doesn't work, I guess because it is almost one year old and I have newer release. It fails on this command

Code:

$sudo mount --bind /userdata/media/0 ~/Mount

saying this path doesn't exist or something like that

Thanks

Huge memory usage by system processes? topic

Apps are being killed frequently on my Nexus 9, so I would like to see why.
My HTC One (m7) also has 2gb of ram, but it does not have similar problems. Both of them are running stock Android 5.0.1, and their screen sizes do not differ that much (1920x1080 vs 2048x1536, or ~2m vs ~3m).
From process stats, Nexus 9 is often in the low/critical state. On the other hand, m7 usually stays in the normal state.
From 'dumpsys meminfo':
Nexus 9:
269537 kB: system (pid 449)
192552 kB: com.android.systemui (pid 621 / activities)
138167 kB: surfaceflinger (pid 149)
m7:
121931 kB: system (pid 686)
77821 kB: com.android.systemui (pid 30084 / activities)
5709 kB: surfaceflinger (pid 263)
I'm just curious that why these system processes are using much more memory on Nexus 9? Maybe something related to the Tegra K1 chipset?

[Q] Battery charging and usage topic

Hi Guys,
I received my phone yesterday and from my initial review I see the following in the battery usage:

I am on Android 5.0.1, stock no root

1. The battery when charging from the turbo charger makes the phone hot at the bottom
2. There is a fluctuation in the charge being shown in the notification area. I started charging at 70% and suddenly the battery percentage dropped to 65%.
3. The battery is consumed much faster by the phone

[Q]

1. Anyone experiencing such issues?
2. Does disabling encryption facilitate a battery improvement. Some users have reported an increase in SOT in Google Plus forums when they disabled encryption.

I haven't faced any lags, neither any performance issues, the phone is super smooth and lovely.
