Isn't anyone annoyed at how big the status icons at on the notification bar? It takes up so much space compared to stock android. Is there a way to change this? My device is not rooted. If I need to root to change, how can I do it?

What is this icon? topic
I have this icon on the extreme left of my notification bar but don't know what it is. If I pull down the notification bar it disappears so I cannot click on it to see what it is.
It is the one that looks like a cross on a white background, just left of the "31" date. Does anyone recognize it?

[Q] Share pined weblink icon on hemwscreen topic
Hi All,
I have a simple question yet I couldn't find any references at google :)
I made a google form web link and I add it to my home screen via chrome ("Add to Homescreen" set link)
Now, I want a way to send few friends that homescreen icon directly to their android home screen (or iOS users)...
how do I do that ?

[Q] Icon disappear from top bar on Wake/lockscreen topic
Hey All..
Noticed that when i turn on my HTC One M7 software no: 6.09.401.11 android 4.4.3
Right next to the battery save icon in the top bar an icon disappear after like 1 sec when i wake up my phone and its still in the lockscreen..
This makes it impossible to actually unlock the phone and see what this is..
The icon is like the red part of the icon for Maps.. But its only the outer line of it with like a pause symbol inside.. It the same color (white) like the battery icon and clock in the top bar.
Anyone here who can give me an answer what this icon is for? Can it be some sort of app that pause my location when my phone is in sleep mode?
Hope someone out there have seen it too and got an answer...

[Q] Nexus 5 won't turn on or show battery icon while charging topic
Hello,
Today I tried to sideload the OTA update to Android 5.0.1 (because my Nexus is root and it would not let me update normally), but there was an error saying missing file in system.img. So, after that, I got stuck at Google logo screen. I entered stock recovery (I never installed a custom recovery) and wiped cache, with no luck. Did a data wipe. No luck. So I tried flashing the factory image for Android 5.0, but right after flashing the bootloader, the device turned off (or it appeared to), the script showed "waiting for device", and the phone never came back. Now it won't turn on at all. I don't know what to do :(

How this happens: the place where the app icon is stored is not mounted until the OS has booted so Android uses the stock icon.
I was screwing around installing all kinds of apps to see if anything worked and finally found an app that worked it is called
"Fast Reboot" by Great Bytes Software on the play store.
what it does: "Simulates a reboot by closing/restarting all core and user processes and thus frees up memory" ie your icons are "refreshed"
After I reboot my phone or tablet I open this app and bam my icons are back
As always you should support products that work.

What is this icon?? topic
So I woke up this morning with this icon next to the alarm clock. It's a circle with a diagonal line thru it. I have no idea what it is for. And shows no notification in the pull down. Anyone have an idea?

Calendar icon date not changing. topic
I'm not sure if my issue is Nova launcher or another issue.
The calendar date on the icon is not changing automatically.
Does anybody else have this issue?
I have to long press on it every day to update the date displayed on the icon.

Use icon packs with default launcher topic
i want to use belle icon pack with my default launcher, but it didin't work.
is it possible to use them by getting it's icon pics from it's directory and moving it to the phone's icon folder?
