[App] SWE Browser topic

I have compiled the SWE browser code found here:
https://www.codeaurora.org/xwiki/bin...dragon/WebHome

It is like 10GB download and it takes a decent amount of time to download and compile. They don't make it that easy.

Basically this is an optimized browser made for the snapdragon processor. I have been running it for a few weeks and it is pretty solid. Really fast. I did some benchmarks vs firefox and chrome and it is between 10% - 30% faster. It just seems snappier than other browsers.

Here are images of the benchmarks.

Here is a screenshot of the browser

Screen Short of Browser

The older version of SWE built by this guy:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39296-app...gon-nightlies/

Actually had better sunspider scores, but the newer version is much better at octane and kraken.

However it looks like since google switched to the blink engine sunspider is no longer something they are optimizing for. However the SWE browser scores are still 30% faster. It asks for a bunch of permissions. I am not sure which ones are actually necessary so I left it as is.

[Q] Sync Chrome bookmarks on G3 stock browser? topic

Hi, I'm going mad.......... Does anybody know how to sync the Chrome bookmarks (PC) on the G3's stock browser?
On my Galaxy S3 could do it (it had the same stock browser), but with the LG G3 I can't find how to do it.
I like the stock browser much more than Chrome on the mobile phone.
I hope someone could help.
Thank you.

[Q] Bookmark Labels Missing in Stock Browser topic

Hello everyone,

Some of my bookmark (favorites) labels are not showing up. If anyone can help me figure this out it'd be greatly appreciated. The symptoms are below, my system specifications are below that.

One website this happens on is: usccb.org/bible/malachi/1

Symptoms
1. I save a webpage to the myname@gmail.com section of my bookmarks.
2. I can go to my bookmarks page in Browser and the label will be there, but a short time later the label disappears (the screenshot is still there, but the text label is gone).
3. If I go to the bookmark without a label and I click the "Bookmark Star" on the browser toolbar, the "Edit bookmark" pop-up box opens and the label displays for a second before disappearing.
4. I can relabel the bookmark and the label appears again in the bookmarks page..
5. As soon as I bookmark another page, the previous bookmark label disappears again.
6. To try to fix it, I go the to the unlabeled bookmark website, then click "Remove" but the bookmark still remains. I have to "Remove" it 3 or 4 times before it will actually be removed from bookmarks.
7. Once the bookmark is actually removed, I click the "Bookmark Star" and the "Bookmark this page" pop-up box opens, this time the label in the pop-up box does not disappear. I add the page to my bookmarks again.
8. The bookmark label on my bookmarks page in Browser disappears again.
9. This process keeps repeating, it seems random as to which webpages it affects and which it does not, or at least if there is a pattern I haven't recognized it yet.

System Specs
Acer Iconia A500
Android Version: Stock 4.0.3
Kernel Version: Stock 2.6.39.4+
Image Version: Acer_AV041_A500_RV05RC01_PA_CUS1
Build number: Acer_AV041_A500_1.033.00_PA_CUS1
Image P/N: FM.S14A0.00Y

Stock Android Browser
Version: 4.0.3-1333727375

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Naked Browser Pro ... Inverted "Night Mode" Saving battery like a champ topic

Fastest and cleanest browser out there bar none.... always used this on my less beefy devices back in the day because it doesn't use much processor and it's amazingly quick... but if you like bells and whistles? you'll hate this browser... it is a massively stripped down version of an android browser with nothing extra to clog up the works... just straight up fast browsing...

advantage for us? ... It has a great night mode that just flips JavaScript background and text... but leaves photos and windows alone... so it doesn't invert everything , giving a more normal browsing experience in night mode while saving tons of battery on our Amoled screen and going real easy on the eyes for bedtime web surfing.

EXAMPLE BELOW OF INVERTED BROWSING (reddit: of course... where else would i be besides here?)

Naked Browser - Great for Keyboard users topic

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fevdev.nakedbrowser&hl=en
I just wanted to let people know that after a lot of searching I found a browser that supports keyboard shortcuts, such as Ctrl+T to create a new tab, that is not Google Chrome. To boot it's lightweight and pretty awesome.

Others that work
Ctrl + W close tab
Ctrl + Tab cycle tabs
Alt + Arrow Left/Right to go back/forward
Ctrl + F to Find in Page
Ctrl + A Select all

[APP] Idea for a innovative web browser (not really) :) topic

Some weeks ago I was searching on the Play Store for some custom launchers, until i found a Windows Phone 8 launcher wich looked amazing on my Galaxy S-III... Anyway I was trying to find an Android web browser like the Internet Explorer 11 of the WP8 and I didn't find any like that.

So I thought: "Why not make a browser wich looks like the Internet Explorer 11?"
But like it requires some knowlegde about Android programming and I don't have it, I leave you this idea....
Here's how it would look like :fingers-crossed: :

THANK YOU!

[Q] Browser crashes on bigpart topic

Since I've moved to big part, I've tried several distributions: first CM , then EOS and now I'm on Omni. In all distributions the browser will crash at some point, no matter which browser. Dolphin wouldn't even start on CM and EOS, and the others I've tried (stock, chrome, chrome beta, firefox and opera) would get stuck after browsing some pages or opening several tabs.

I wonder if they all use parts of the same android libraries and whether these are impacted by bigpart.

Has someone else noticed this and possibly found a browser that does work?

[APP] Popup Browser - Open web links into a Popup Window topic

Here is another app I've been using for a while. and wanted to share with you. As you know, samsung used to include a popup browser in previous Note versions but no longer includes it in later versions. This app does provide an alternative Popup Browser using the stock browser. So basically, when you open a link for example in twitter app, you choose Popup Browser and it will launch the stock browser in a popup window with the requested web link. As simple as that. Future versions might include a selection of browsers but for now the stock browser will do the job.

Just install the app. There is no launcher icon but when you open a web link from third-party apps, you will see Popup Browser as one of the options. Just select it and keep browsing.

NOTE: This app does not have the INTERNET permission nor does it have ADS or analtytics so your browsing privacy is maintained.
