[Q] Trying to root my i9506 S4. topic

I am new to this, so I am stumbling in the dark. I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel though.

I am trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9506 bought in Denmark.

I have found the following guides:

This guide wants me to flash CWM before rooting.
This one wants me to do more or less the same

I get the impression, that these are the types of phones that are compatible with the first guide's files.

The information I have found on my phone by dialing *#1234# does not add up with any of the listed numbers:

Does this mean that my phone is not supported?

This problem aside, I found another guide.
This guide does not have me install ClockWorkMod to root my device. What's up with that? This seems much easier - too easy, really.

Thank you for your help.

Trying to decide whether or not to get a N6? Help plz! topic

Going to b on at&t.. So im lookin for a phone that has the ability to be rooted and/or unlocked bootloader. So far the N6 is the only phone that fits the bill. Ny1 kno what other phone can gain unlocked bootloader or root? I'd really like the Note 4 (multiwindow, IR blaster, fingerprint,Sd card, removable bat, etc) but its so locked down. Also what is screen on-time like for N6 stock or custom rom?

Trying to Install Windows 10 on a bootable sd card for the Surface Pro topic

Hi,
Since yesterday, i've been attempting to boot windows 10 on a sd card in order to try it without messing with the internal ssd. To do that I had to transform my sd card into a fixed disk in order to create multiple partitions, then i convert it into a gpt format and partitioned it based on microsoft recommendations, i used the dism command to apply install.wim image on the windows partition and bcdboot to create to boot files on the efi partition. Sadly after booting on the sd card, i've encountered a bsod saying inaccessible boot device.
Can somebody help me?
Thanks.

Having trouble trying to root a tablet topic

I've recently been given a tablet by my ISP. I am trying to root it, but I can't seem to find instructions for it, and even worse, I can't find the model.
I've googled a bit, but I'm not sure if there is a way to manually root it and succeed. I'm only used to rooting my Galaxy Nexus which is a lot simpler.

As for the tablet and it's model/specs, all I've managed to find is a mention of it being a ZTE E8QP on the "instructions" manual, but Googling that gives me nothing. I also did a "fastboot devices", and there I found it is using a Mediatek MT6582, according to the name mentioned there.
You can also find the tablet's page here, but it only lists the specs basically.

I'm really desperate to get root, as for some reason the Settings app came with the Users menu hidden and is in Phone mode, and I would like to have multiple users on this tablet. Among other things, rooting seems like a good start.

[Q] Recovery Flash Failed, Stuck in Bootloop After Trying to Unbrick topic

My phone was running CM 11 M12 with TWRP 2.7.1.0 recovery. I used ROM Tools from JRummy to flash the TWRP 2.8.3.0 image, and it flashed successfully. I rebooted into recovery to verify, but my phone ended up stuck in download mode. I couldn't reboot to system or recovery, it kept coming back to download mode. I attempted to unbrick via ODIN by flashing an old 4.2.2 stock tar file (using Qbking77's "How to Unroot and Unbrick the Samsung Galaxy S4" YouTube video), but now it is stuck in a bootloop at the AT&T logo. When I try to reboot into recovery, the Samsung Custom screen appears, "recovery booting" appears on top, and the phone reboots again back to system and proceeds to get stuck at the AT&T logo once more. This has all has to be related with my recovery getting screwed up, but I have no idea how to fix that issue.

I really don't want to be without a working phone any longer than I need to, any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] trying to recover wallpaper photo topic

Hi, I'm brand new here. Nexus 5, stock android 5.0.1
I'm sure I'm not the first to have this issue, I just don't know where to look. A bunch of photos got inadvertently deleted without being backed up. One of them is currently my wallpaper, and I really want to save it. I saw a couple of other threads generally related to this but not sure if any of the above solutions would apply to a N5 with lollipop. PS i've tried Android file transfer but I can't seem to locate the image. Thanks for any help.

[Q] Trying to get a proper android backup topic

Migrated to android about a year ago and still haven't been able to work out proper android backup.
I want to be able to mess with the system without fear of losing my data/configurations.

For example when installing Lollipop I encountered a lot of problems and every time I ****ed something up and had to reflash it I need to reinstall and reconfigure ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING (Including redownloading about 13GB of music for google play music).

This has been a major letdown as I love tweaking and messing with the system getting it 100% the way I like it.
I've been able to get a basic functioning Lollipop installation but I want more.

Here's what I want to be able to backup to my PC (a 13GB backup on the device isn't very practical, especially when messing with the system):
My apps and all their settings (Including google play's downloaded music).
System settings.
This way and I can mess with the system and once I get it the way I want- restore the backup.

I know this might seem like a lazy google question but I am really at a lose.
I've scoured the internet looking for a solution, Tried numerous programs with no success.
Please if someone can guide me in the right direction I'll be forever grateful.

[Q] I'm trying to buy a Yotaphone 2 in the US. Would like to import it from Russia. topic

As title says, looking to order a Yotaphone 2 in the US. As far as I can tell, it's not going to be released here. I can order from Amazon.de or Amazon.fr, but would end up paying about 0 due to the exchange rate. I'd much rather pay the Russian price of 32990 rubbles, which is about 0. I found a couple shops that have it in stock in Russia, but none that will ship it to me. Anyone have experience with this?

[Q] Trying to decide on which SM-T807 topic

Tablet wise, I am coming from an iPad 3 AT&T LTE, but my phone is a T-Mobile Note 4 (and I have had the Note 3 and S3 and S4 previously). I am tired of constantly having to jailbreak my iPad to customize my tablet the way I want, and I think the Tab S 10.5 is the way to go (unless there is an even newer 2015 version coming out). I mostly use the iPad to read Reddit, web browse, read books and comics, listen to music, view my photography, and watch movies. The Tab S 10.5 should be able to handle all that nicely... plus have the added benefit of being able to run all the stuff on my phone.

Since I have an AT&T grandfathered tablet account, I have unlimited data for a month. I can get their tablet http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/gal...SM-T807AHAAATT and use it with or without wifi.

On the other hand, since I have a T-Mobile phone, I can get a 5GB a month data plan from T-Mobile for only a month http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/gal...SM-T807TTSATMB and then just make sure I pop on wifi when I am home (or use wireless tether on my phone).

So my question are:
1.) Are there any differences between the AT&T and the T-Mobile 8707 tablets? Both the carrier sites say they are Snapdragon chips (which I prefer), but after reading on the threads here, I think they are both Exynos.

2.) I have read on here that the AT&T is not rooted. Is that the same for T-Mobile version? Is there any chance of a root happening? I really want to root for backup purposes and to put a ROM in.

In my opinion, Samsung and the carriers have messed up the selling of these tablets. Samsung has too many version (Pro, Note 10.1, and Tab S 10.5) confusing buyers. And the carriers having the wrong specs on their site doesn't help.

[Q] Trying to update firmware, but no version-main! topic

Hi guys,

I'm trying to update Android HD Revolution for M8 (unlocked, intl version, soff, supercid). Wifi wasnt working, and read that I need to upgrade to the latest firmware (I at first thought firmware was included with custom roms .. i appear to be wrong)

Which firmware to I download? I am looking here:
xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC%2FHTC_One_M8%2F

and there's tons! I fastboot getvar all and main-var is blank !
(screenshot attached)

Which one do I download?

Bonus question: Should I update root, or once it's already rooted, it can update itself?

Thanks guys. I'm OK at this stuff but no where near an expert.
