[Q] Continous ReBoots even in Recovery topic

Please Anyone...
My phone was in Good status before i went to bed last night... I remembered i was playing music on it before i slept off. I woke up lightly in the middle of the night i heard the music still playing. Tiredly, i pushed the Power button and Switched off the device and continued my sleep.

I woke up this morning to switch on my phone and it started this annoying reboot. It boots up to the homescreen and the next 2 seconds, it freezes , trips off and restart. If allowed to Restart, it would follow the same cycle on and on. I was rooted and running Sickness Insane Hybrid V6. I decided to boot into recovery but could not get into Recovery, it hangs on the TWRP Splashscreen. I have restored the Firmware via Odin, the problem persists... I flashed Philz Recovery via Odin and was able to get into Recovery but when i try to perform Factory & Data Reset, the Phone goes off and restarts....

I have gone back to stock via Odin, Rooted and flashed Philz Recovery via Odin, and tried to flash the Insane Hybrid.... The flashing completes but after booting the phone it kept restarting... I also noticed all my apps are still installed even after Going Back to stock and flashing a new ROM.

Any help on what i can do please?

[Q] How to Disable notifications, even after app update? topic

Hi,

It's great that I can easily turn off notification of an app really easy, but for those apps that update every single day, which in turn, turns notifications back on.

There has to be an app, or root app, or even an Xposed module that can stop certain apps from pushing Notifications even after an update..?

Thank you!

Experiencing major lag even after flashing back to stock? topic

Ok so I got a replacement phone and my previous phone did not have this problem so it's not the usual "touchwiz is laggy" rant

I have tried going back to nj7 once and nk4 about 8 times already. I even redownloaded everything on my computer to see if it was a bad download. Even on stock nk4 it is still laggy when I type. It might relate to the fingerprint scanner because 2 other people reported this problem. I set up my fingerprint before rooting and flashing a custom rom....

Can anyone help?

Bad video but as you can see, it lags while I'm typing every 3-4 seconds

(STUCK) Kindle goes into "fastboot mode" screen even when entering recovery topic

Yesterday was my first time rooting a Kindle Fire, and the root process went very smoothly when I followed this guide which uses saferoot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/kind...6-3-3-t2814955

While I made use of this guide for flashing FFF and TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...13&postcount=3

After successfully rooting it, I wanted to try the OtterX ROM/TWRP/Bootloader, since I read the comments and saw it would be good to try it out. After flashing the bootloader (otterx-u-boot_v2.05), the kindle kept rebooting showing the logo and the option to 'press power to enter boot menu'. I thought this was normal so I didn't mind it. (During this time, I could still enter recovery.) I proceeded to Step 2 which was flashing TWRP for OtterX (I downloaded zip-otterx-twrp-2.8.2.0-recovery.zip and installed it using the previous TWRP I flashed: openrecovery-twrp-2.2.2.1-blaze.img).

I wasn't able to remember what I did next, but I know I was already having issues. I was getting anxious and sleepy at the same time, I remember exploring the boot menu and foolishly/stupidly tried the EMMC Corruption Fix, without even trying to research about it beforehand, so now I'm stuck at the "fastboot mode" screen (I've attached a photo of the screen). Whenever I turn on the device, it shows the kindle fire logo and the option to enter boot menu. If I let it be for a while, it goes into the "fastboot mode" screen, the same thing happens when I try to choose "continue boot" or "recovery boot". Windows doesn't recognize it anymore whenever I try to connect it too (I'm using Windows 8.1 by the way.)

Please help, I've tried reading about how I could restore the kindle to the state it used to be after I rooted it, but no luck, I couldn't find anyone encountering the same problem as me since I think I'm the only one stupid enough to apply that EMMC corruption fix without knowing or reading what it actually does. Thanks in advance to anyone who could help.

Soft bricked or even worse, need help asap topic

There is a longer story , but it is way too long
Short story: i had cyanogenmod, and i broke the lte and i was told to update the modem, i wasnt able to update the modem with cm , so i decided to update the modems with the original stock rom 4.2.2 , soi booted into recovery , and wiped everything including the dalvik , and then i proceded into donwload mode , but my phone would no show up in odin (because i forgot the antivirus and the firewall), so i only turned off the antivirus(forgot about the firewall), and because the only source of internet for my pc is the hotspot( i am using a different pc right now conected to comcast) i turned my phone on , and then i had to setup cyanogenmod once again, and then i looked up on the net why odin wasnt working , and i found out it was the firewall , so i put my phone into download mode ,without erasing the data , and i turn off the firewall , and i start the process of putting the stock rom on my phone , and it fails, and then i try to flash it again and again and again , and everytime it gets stuck when writing the image , as you can see from the odin log i posted under , so then i format the nand with odin , still not working , so then i try to Re-partition , and it kind of works , i can boot up into recovery mode, before that i couldn't , and it says that /mount , /data , and all other folders , have invalid arguments , btw i got the pit file from here ---> add a w before the dot and an m after co ww.droidviews.co/how-to-unbrick-your-bricked-samsung-galaxy-s4-gt-i9500-gt-i9505/ . so then i try to flash the rom again , and i get the same error , btw when i flash the pit file , odin says it passed , but my phone , says that the pit check failed, but the blue bar goes all the way. Please tell me if theres anything i can do to it.

here's the odin log for all the system flashes which failed, i didn't post the re-patition log because everytime i do it odin says it was a sucess , and it doesnt give me any errors , but when i go into recovery it says that all the "folders" : /mounts /data /cache ... are an invalid arguement.

[Q] Play store not working even after factory reset. topic

Hey all,

This is on my SGP511. To get root access recently, I downgraded to an earlier version of android. Then I used EasyRoot to get root access, backed up TA, then installed XZDualrecovery, supersu, busybox, Nandroid backup, and installed the newest firmware with root.

During downgrade of android, I noticed that Play store didnt work and so I thought it would fix on it's own after I installed the latest firmware. I have also noticed Gmail does not work as well, but I do have internet connection. I tried different fixes, culminating in a factory reset.

Even after factory reset, I dont have connection to Gmail and Play Store. I dont know what to do now to get it working.

Password/fingerprint always required even though set to 5 minutes topic

I have the "secured lock time" set to 5 minutes in my lockscreen/fingerprint settings. However, despite this, if I push my power button to put my phone to sleep, and then I immediately push it again to turn my phone back on, I'm always required to scan my fingerprint/enter my password.

I thought by choosing 5 minutes, it should only require me to scan fingerprint/enter password if I don't use my phone for roughly 5 minutes. But it seems that if I put my phone to sleep by hitting the power button, I'm always required to scan fingerprint, no matter how little time has passed.

Any ideas? I've tried every setting (15 seconds all the way to 1 hour) and they all do the same thing. I've also tried turning fingerprint security off, and then on again. No help.

The only thing that comes to mind is that I do have an Exchange email setup that has a security policy. But it also allows 15 minutes. AND, I have it installed through the email app Nine, and I have Nine set to only operate security on the application level rather than the device level. So I don't see how Nine could possibly be requiring me to enter a fingerprint.

Would greatly appreciate any input!

[Q] No sound during call (even if speakerphone is on) topic

Additionally no one can hear me on the other end.

This strange issue started happening this morning. I have tried a hard reboot.

I've confirmed that I can still play music (from Google Play Music), and when I end the call it makes the regular *beep* noise.

Running stock Android.

Any assistance in fixing this issue is greatly appreciated.
