I love the fact that we can launch a voice search from anywhere, anytime.
What I don't love is the "man in the middle" approach that is used. It slows down the process, and in my opinion, looks unsightly.
So, I made the process more streamlined using the power of OkGoogleNowTriggerIntent, Secure Settings (both required), and Tasker.

In the zip is both Taskerless (apk via Tasker app factory) and NotTaskerless (project xml) flavors.
Obviously you loose Touchless Control based commands ("What's up?") by using this. Haven't tested Assist yet, but I assume it will still work.
And again the OkGoogleNowTriggerIntent xposed module and Secure Settings are required for this to work.
