Picked up a used Nexus 5 that would not power on and swapped out the battery for a new one and it powered right up. It's still on 4.4.3 and after setting the phone up, it found 4.4.4 update and downloaded it fine. It started the install process and then said it had to reboot. The problem is that it will not finish rebooting, it just powers down.
I can press the power button and it will power back on but it never updates as it was not able to finish the installation since it did not reboot. I have tried factory reset, clear cache, etc. but can't figure out how to install an update without rebooting.
I had a chat with Google earlier today and "they are looking into it".
Everything appears to be working fine except for the issue with no reboot. If I go into Recovery and try and reboot from there it will not reboot, it just powers down like it would for a reboot but never powers back on.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as the phone is for my son to replace his ailing S4.
Thanks, Bill
