I got a new Kindle Fire HDX 7" for Christmas, but to my dismay, it doesn't look like I can use many things my android phone can. I tried to sideload My Boy! and GameBoid, but both have strange bugs.
My Boy! will load ROMs, but the GUI has weird issues and whenever I press the menu button the menu instantly closes. I can only access the menu before loading a ROM, and even then I can't exit from some interfaces properly for some reason (such as the control layout).
GameBoid has no sound half the time and repeatedly asks if you want to exit whenever you come back from a menu or re-enter the application.
It's irritating that things don't seem to work properly. I think this is a good tablet, but the problems I'm having are making me want to ask for a return and get a Nexus 7 or other tablet instead. And I'm not holding my breath for a root for this thing (It already updated to 4.5.2 without me noticing). Anyone know what might work in this case?
