Sorry to do this but..... Best handset available, money no object. topic

Hi,

I own an HTC one m7 and the battery is on its way out. I've recently had a bit of a windfall and I want to buy a new handset. The One m8 is an obvious choice, but with the advent of Android 5.0.2 (and 5.1 not far behind, no doubt) I'm toying with the idea of a Nexus, or maybe one of the newer manufacturers who seem to be coming out with the latest super-duper phone every few months. Or do I wait for.... Well, whatever's round the corner?

I will of course be rooting and running a custom ROM, so interface and bundled hardware are totally unimportant. For me I want a good, or even great, camera as I'll be travelling around the world soon, I want excellent wifi reception from the get-go, I want decently powerful stereo speakers, a great screen with gorilla glass, and probably the best processor on the market.

I don't care about battery life: I've resigned myself to accepting that a day's use per charge is the best I'm gonna get until new battery technology us devised and implemented, which won't be for a while.

So, do I go for the HTC m8, wait for the new HTC m9, wait for the nexus 6, the LG 4? Or just get a GPe phone, install the latest custom ROM and be happy with today's technology? Or how about the oneplus, or the huwei, or.........?
