Google Music Play Data topic

I have noticed that a large part of my Google Play Music data is being counted out of my 3gb data plan. Is there something I need to configure within Google Music to limit its data use when not on wifi? I am not watching music videos. I have see it use nearly half a GB in a day for just music.

I am looking to replace my pandora subscription and Google Music seems like a good sub. Spotify does not send meta data to my car radio.
