I am new to android and hacking.
I am using a Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 phone which is a rebranded Coolpad F1 8297w. In my haste and excitement I installed a YunOs ROM. That led to my bootsplash being replaced by another image.
While trying to fix that I corrupted my recovery and have been unable to get into recovery since.
I used adb sideload to flash a zip file after which I can no longer boot into recovery.
My current OS is a KitKat based Hive UI for Xolo phones. Its an AOSP ROM with good battery backup so I still have a working phone.
Also, I was playing with themer launcher and that seems to have altered some setting as my home button is no longer working.
So, I have three issues and hope that they are not inter related.
1. Altered Bootsplash.
2. Unable to get into recovery.:banghead:
3. Home button not working.
I have tried various steps to fix the most important issue (2) here.
1. Tried flashing recovery from within the device. Doesn't work as neither CWM nor TWRP have released stable recoveries for my device. Flashify and ROM manager don't work either.
2. Fastboot mode (boot loader). I can get my device into fastboot mode but, my PC doesn't recognize the device. I am confused as to which drivers to install. MMX A310 or CoolpadF1 or Xolo 8x1000 which is the name I get when I connect my phone to PC in normal MTP mode.
I have come to the conclusion that first I need to flash a stable recovery using boot loader. For that I need help.
Also in Windows device manager under other devices MTK65xxx is showing. The drivers weren't digitally signed so I disabled that in windows 8.1.
Fastboot still doesn't recognize my device.
:(
Senior devs please guide me through (2) as it is imperative to solve. The rest can wait.
