Hello, just jumped ship from Verizon after 15 years of putting up with their BS. always justified it because of the signal strength. So far so good.
I've always always rooted NY Verizon devices. Main reasons were always gaining wifi hot-spot and getting rid of bloat-ware. Neither seem to be an issue with T-Mobile since they give me 5GB of hot-spot usage and not much of bloat is in my phone. So why should I root? I'm not a newbie to rooting a device but these are my reasons not wanting or wanting to do it :
1- I have returned one phone due to the camera not being able to focus properly. Although the second phone started good, it appears that I'm starting to get some of the symptoms and from what I read it's a known issue with this phone. Any solutions to this problem? Because if there isn't, I'd rather not trip Knox to keep warranty intact.
2- I'd rather have AOSP but a functional one. The S pen is a deal breaker for me and if AOSP can't use it why even bother with the NOTE. The S5 would do. So does the pen work? I don't use the IR.
3- is the bootloader fully unlocked on this? Coming from Verizon we're not used to this much freedom :)
