I've been enjoying my TF300 since the month it was released, but in the past few months the battery stats have become less and less accurate. I was watching YouTube videos on it while it was docked and charging yesterday when it suddenly died, and I haven't been able to get it to boot since. Sometimes it will start to boot, but die half way through the boot animation, which implies that the battery isn't charging.
When I plug the charger directly into the tablet, it flashes orange twice and then does nothing. When I plug the charger into the dock, that shows green - so I assume the dock is fully charged. When I plug the tablet into the dock, it flashes red twice again.
The logical assumption from this is that my TF300 has stopped accepting or holding a charge. My question is, which part do you think I should try and replace first? I understand that the dock connector has separate pins for 5V and 15V charging, so maybe that's been bent or broken somehow...or the battery itself could be worn out...or the motherboard could have developed a fault. Has anyone had a similar experience to this? I don't want to buy a new tablet as there is absolutely nothing wrong with my beloved Transformer other than this! :eek:
I'm going to leave it plugged directly into a standard PC USB port for several hours tomorrow while i'm at work, to see if it will trickle charge that way. That would imply the charger is at fault, despite the green light from the dock when it's plugged in.
