Review of Griffin Tech Survivor case for Samsung Note 3 topic

05:34

This review is for griffin survivor case http://griffintechnology.com/survivor/all-terrain
i'd like to start by saying that when I sit down to write a review, the first thing that comes to mind is to state what sort of usage I expect from the product.
I think this will put the review in context and allow people to measure their own usage and lifestyle against mine, and thus make a more informed decision.
Basically, instead of having to read between the lines, make the information accessible. When shopping for myself, I usually read the negative reviews first because that's where you find the nitty gritty, however, a good portion of those are by written by people who either bought the wrong product or can't figure out how to use it and need a place to vent.
If I can help inspire reviewers to put their reviews in context in the beginning, I think everyone will benefit. Less people will end up buying the wrong products, buyer confusion and headache will be lessened, and manufacturers will find it easier to learn exactly who is using their products how, and what to do to improve them.
There are so many products on the market now, too many it often seems, and I think it's reasonable to have a 'take charge' approach and try to make it easier to navigate this turbulent ocean...no one wants to waste money and there's no bigger waste than buying products which don't hold up and then having to re-buy. Which is a huge problem in this climate. It makes money for manufactures, but it fills up landfills and makes average peoples lives more stressful.

Me - I'm a 6'1'' tall 220 lb 29 year old male with an outdoorsy mindset for this product. I will be keeping it in the front chest pocket of a fishing style vest, or in the side leg pocket of fatigue style pants, and mounting it to my motorcycle and charging it off the battery for road trips

The entire front including front camera is covered by a hard plastic sheet which doesn't impair touch function at all. Gaming is fine with this case. The rear camera is not covered by plastic. However, the rear camera is very well sealed by a rubber flap. Sealed so well it is a bit tricky to get open. But the protection is excellent.

The cover for the charging dock, mute slide switch head phone port are a more forgiving to open and they don't really get in your way. The cover for the charging dock is perforated so as not to interfere with the speakers and indeed it does not.

The other buttons have no slide, they work through the spongy rubber covering just fine. Other than a little work to get the camera cover open there is zero effect on functionality with this case.

So in summary it is not waterproof but would certainly stand up to a brief pass through a lawn sprinkler, and unless you backed over your iPhone with your car or dropped a cinder block on it, makes the precious practically invulnerable to damage.
