As the title says. Before I start, I have an LG Optimus L90 running android 4.4.2 and D41510e.
I had a lot of trouble rooting my phone even with multiple guides and even the ones from here. The thing is, I somehow got it rooted about a month ago and since it was so stressful back then, I forgot which method I got it to root. Anyways, I had root working for about a month ago when I got my phone after trial and error, but a couple of days ago, an android update came up and updated my phone. I think this modified and removed my root from my phone. I know that an update would remove an installed root, but I don't know how it would move it off. The reason why I say this is because now I can't unroot my phone.
I have tried all of the tutorials here and some other ones from other sites but I have no idea how to get this to work correctly. I was pointed to gdjindal's guide multiple times but I have tried it countless times already ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l...g-l90-t2803479 ). I always can get through the whole process and it flashes correctly and finishes, but every time I go to the firmware upgrade with the volume+usb, it still says that it is ROOTED. Though it says it is rooted, root checkers and the like still say that my phone is not rooted.
I think this might be because of the android update and that some files may still be left over from the previous root that occurred. The problem here is that since I can't even find a method to root my phone correctly, I can't do all of the useful methods to unroot my phone that are available to me. I have done the rooting methods here and no dice either. I was under the assumption that if I did somehow unroot my phone or maybe because my phone still says ROOTED when it isn't, this might be causing me not being able to root my phone. I don't know anymore, though. If I could just somehow get root to work on my phone, everything would be solved but none of the guides or anything has made it possible. Even when I originally got my phone, I couldn't even towelroot it when everyone just kept pointing me into that direction.
Any help would be honestly appreciated. I am still looking through threads as I write this for anything that can help, but I fear it will just not work like everything has already. It has been hell ever since that update installed without my notice ruining my root that I don't even know how I got to work. T_T
*Oh yeah, if I can just somehow root my phone, this will all be solved and I can just forget the whole unrooting process and whatnot. Honestly, I only think unrooting will allow me to root since I think my old root files are ruining the rooting process but even if I got it to unroot, finding a method to root my phone took forever as is. The methods I use from here and there always just say that my phone isn't supported. When I did have my root method to work that I forgot I used, I didn't use or have any SuperSU or anything. This is one weird thing that I know for sure. It always just allowed access when I had to do something that required root.
