My Theory on why Verizon hasn't released N6 topic

06:41

So after doing some research about the whole advanced calling feature I came to a theory that might calm the heat towards them.

Advanced calling 1.0 isn't just something they have to do to the network. VoLTE is already possible in any area Verizon covers with LTE. Unlike other service providers who have been doing this for a while, Verizon is fresh at it. And I believe that the way they enable this function on the Sim is purely software. Not built into the Sim. That's why there are so little phones out there that have it enabled. Because Verizon waits for a software update from the phones manufacturer and implements it into the new software.

So, my theory is that, because the Nexus will be the first phone that Verizon will be selling with lollipop, they will have to work with Google to implement that software into the 5.1 release that should be coming out in February which is why they are planning to release the phone in that time.

Another reason this has to go that way is because its also one of the very few phones that Verizon will be selling that has only one radio and therefore will not have data during a phone call which is one of their biggest selling points and the original reason why I choose them over anyone else 5 years ago.

I think that Verizon just wants this phone to have happy customers and not have a terrible experience like they did with the GNex

Thoughts?
