[Q] Coming from S1 to S2 topic

Hi there. I'm new to the S2. I used to be big into the dev scene on the S1 and was wondering if things were similar to the S2?

On the S1 it was always best to flash cm9 before cm10/11 to avoid lost imei. Same?

Also it was best to flash from stock JVU ginger bread when changing roms because it had the ginger bread boot loader. Is there a certain stock rom for S2 that is best to flash before?
